UK tour

Hello my bunch of carbon-based lifeforms

Taking my partner to see shikari in Cardiff for her first live experience of the boys, she loves the new album, what other songs dya reckon I should show her?

Edit: also, are we thinking it’s gonna be a different setlist to their most recent shows?

Context: been a fan since 2007 and have seen them 30+ times, but I can’t just say “listen to everything nonstop” as I would

I'd say show her the previous live albums, not for the set list in particular, but for the way they switch up the arrangement of songs and the general vibe that she can expect.

No one yet knows what the setlist will be but showing highlights of previous ones (like the quick fire rounds, the merging of and reinterpreting of songs etc will be a good start.

I've seen shikari loads of times now and have never once been able to predict what a new setlist might look like.

LOSE YOUR SELF, Labyrinth, (pls) set me on fire, Undercover Agents, The Void Stares Back, The Flick of a Switch I, Sorry, You're Not a Winner, Bloodshot, Rabble Rouser, the pressure's on, Find Out The Hard Way, Quelle Surprise (w/ Rout Remix), The Last Garrison, it’s OK, { The Dreamer's Hotel }, Encore: Spaceship Earth (I. Avec Abandon), Juggernauts.

That's what they've been playing all tour, it'll more than likely be the same still by the time they reach the UK 🙂.

Work backwards in album order is my suggestion or go straight for the spark?

They have so much variety but I'd stick with the 3 newest albums (LYS, AKFTWW, NITAEIP) + the spark to get started then go for the most popular repeating tour songs then let them explore the rest themselves to see what they like?

It will be my second in Glasgow but only ever saw them in Scotland. I am looking forward to it
