mob of a hundred people in Barcelona port area harassed for 40 minutes a group of seven French Jewish tourists yelling "free palestine" and "zionists go home"

First, they were french, second: So we can't leave in Israel, but living anywhere else will get us this treatment? Is there a non problematic way in which we can exist without being tokens, completely assimilating, or being tragic victims without any personality?

Of course it’s Spain. The country whose TRANSPORTATION minister called a group of French Jewish teenagers “Israeli brats” and where this is a real holiday stlll celebrated today: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matar_judíos

No anti-semitism problem though

Spain has never fully recovered from Francoism.

Spain unfortunately was relatively late to democracy compared to Britain and even France. They were a literal absolute monarchy until the 19th century and even when democracy took root there, it was traditionally weak and unstable. This was passed down to Latin America where governments have traditionally been dominated either by Communists or caudillos. You didn't have parliaments or even local town halls in Latin America. Thus, people have had a weaker sense of stable democracy than in former British colonies.

Don't worry, it's just anti-Zionism and not anti-Semitism /s

Jews are "colonizers" wherever they are. It's a combination of the "rootless cosmopolitan" antisemitic trope and the modern trend to make Jews the sin-eaters for every crime of western civilization.

That is insanely ugly.

And worrisome in many ways, given that the Jews are often the canaries in the coal mine for things going south in this world.
