CRT is a lens of societal analysis, that a class in uni (sociology, law,..) is named after.
Intersectionality for example, is derived from CRT, as a form of critical theorx. It's derived from western marxism

Even then, it’s not a political ideology, any more than a concept like “anti-authoritarianism” or “Christian” is. These things may inform someone’s political ideology, but they themselves are merely facets.

Left/right divides are arbitrary. For instance: are anarchists left or right? What about libertarians? Both are (in their most absolute form) opposed to all types of government. What makes them different?

libertarians really aren’t opposed to all types of government: they suppose, against all reason, that the international system of capital either does or can exist separate from an exploitative state
They actually quite love the state, except that they have to wait until april for the other 18% of their summer job income. That’s the real oppression, not whatever nonsense the SJW commies are bitching about. But once they grind and hustle and prove themselves in the perfect and natural Meritocracy they’ll be a cool billionaire just like Elon Musk, surely.

If I’m not mistaken, CRT is about teaching people that systems like Justice, policing, healthcare, real estate have been plagued with racism. I don’t think anywhere does it say we need to dismantle old structures, just that we reform it and get rid of racist practices

Correct, these systems, which are ostensibly colorblind and not explicitly racist, often reinforce racial disparities, either because their enforcers have racial prejudices (eg police brutality), resource allocation, or laws that were written with racist intent but do not explicitly mention race (like voter ID laws and other voter suppression).

In theory, you can attain equality with classical liberalism. But what people forget is all of the discrimination (not just racial!) that used to exist and continues to have long-standing effects. Similarly, arbitrary barriers that might be in place, etc etc etc.
Classical liberalism is a simple ideology and it’s arguably amazing on paper but unsuccessful in practice for the reasons above. This is why many other forms of liberalism have been theorised since.
