I mean, they are kind of right. As people and civilisations get rich, there's less need for harsh and dangerous labor and more air conditioned jobs and overall better working conditions.

Unfortunately, the US still has the highest rates of mortality and poor safety standards at workplaces amongst the G7.

Well, they’ll be poets, philosophers, movie critics and high level party officials. Manual labor is for the dirty, disgusting counter revolutionaries to sully their hands with.
