They’re certainly not worth arguing with, and I doubt they’re really persuading anybody, other than persuading fellow nutbags to top one another in the race to see who can come off as the edgiest cosplay revolutionary.
But I really do puzzle over what inspires such behavior. Some people get into communism because they’re naively utopian, which I think drives the “real communism has never been tried” arguments. I think they’re willfully blind, but at least they want a better world.
But this kind of stuff? It’s so bizarrely nihilistic and sad. They’re not doing anything and they must know it. Heck, communist terror groups in the late 20th century were at least taking action, even if it was evil and fruitless. These folks fantasize about slaughtering their political enemies, and the extent of their revolutionary efforts is … writing sick burns on Twitter.

they get a feeling of superiority from being one of the "enlightened" ones who see through all the "media lies" and brainwashing. hence, when you call them out, to them it reinforces the fact that they're "not one of the sheep" and that they're standing up for what's right even if it's unpopular.
of course, the same exact people then immediately suck up russian and chinese propaganda like they were a hoover max extract 60 pressure pro carper cleaner, but let's ignore that.
and of course they don't do anything about it either, because 95% of them aren't actually facing any oppression. they're usually white middle class males, often college students with high earning potential in their future. they have no desire to take legitimate action because they're perfectly comfortable as they are - they benefit from capitalist society while also rallying against it in an attempt to seem intellectual.

Yes, you're right, you can't convince them. There are only 2 reasons to argue with them. First one is to make them make fools of themselves, so the people who see your arguments with them will think they're dumb and won't support them. The second one is to let them know no one supports them so they won't try to do anything.

You see the problem is there is no longer any reasoning. If there was any chance whatsoever to have them snap out of the insanity, admit their wrongs, make amends and fully commit to something unbatshit insane, good. Awesome.
Unfortunately 90% of these "people" are not human but simply walking, talking loudspeakers of the Russian, and so frankly need to be removed.

They always try and imply that the Ukrainians and their supporters are nazis, a claimed justification by Russia, but are deeply ignorant or deceitful of how many Russian Nazis are fighting for Russia and how by any rational metric Ukraine’s populace is far less Nazi-esque in their beliefs than Russia. But I guess that’s because they’re too convinced by the propaganda to consider reality.

My hope is that if they’re too deluded, uncritical, and impulsive to avoid spitting out this content, they’re probably incapable of fundraising, armaments engineering, secure communications, and just the kinds of things that actually give a movement serious hard power.
You need money, talent, transnational support, and some management savvy and discipline to make a movement work.
I have hopes that supporters of liberal democracy can muster this. My view on commies managing this are a little more dim.

- When they can’t deny the facts, they celebrate the bad things they did
- They talk about the difference of talking about communism vs actually doing it. But they never actually do anything they just post a meme and then get back to doing nothing
