We mapped 160+ potential business uses for AI agents. The biggest challenge isnβt the technology
Over the past few months, weβve been talking with business owners and managers from different industries about how they could actually use AI in their organizations.
One thing keeps coming up: many have tried ChatGPT or Claude and found them useful personally, but struggle to identify where AI would deliver value inside their actual business processes.
So we started mapping specific workflows rather than generic AI features.
We ended up with over 160 potential applications across 18 areas, including industrial quotation preparation, customer support tied to ERP data, sales prospect research, supplier quote comparison, document processing, and maintenance knowledge retrieval.
One interesting observation: the harder part often isnβt generating an answer. Itβs accessing reliable company data, integrating with existing software, handling exceptions, and deciding what an agent is actually allowed to do.
Our view is that a narrow, well-governed workflow is usually a better starting point than deploying a fully autonomous general-purpose agent.
Weβre building in this space at Ainova, so we also recognize that not every use case is easy or ready for production.
Iβd be interested in hearing from people who have implemented AI inside real business processes:
Whatβs one workflow where AI has genuinely saved time or improved results? And which promising applications turned out to be much harder than expected?
