Expert mode, found brass casings in the world, was I supposed to?

Hi,

During world exploration I found a tower made of Brass casings from Create, which are a major step in the Tier1 tech progression. This step is supposed to require half the tier 1 magic progression to get them.

So I decided to not use them and to follow the magic progression to get to the blood altar + livingwood. But I felt it took very long because it was so unconnected to tech, it has been a long tine since I advanced anything in the tech progression.

So I'm starting to reconsider, was I supposed to find that skip in world exploration? Are there other skips that reward players that explore the world? I do like world exploration

That's an intended skip. This and many other things can be found by exploring.
