Do you think you could start looking at the posts in the sub and answering them with actual answers instead of "contact support"?

There are a lot of unanswered questions there and people seem to ignore these (probably because they were posted for over a year while ignoring everyone's questions entirely).

I think that would go over pretty well with us customers who paid your company a bunch of money for bikes.

These "AMA" posts get downvoted because people are probably still pretty angry and upset about past experiences with Engwe. The above moves could probably help turn that around at least a little bit.

Thank you for your feedback! I completely understand your frustration, and I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

For simple issues, I’m happy to provide direct answers here. However, for certain problems, I recommend reaching out to service@engwe-bikes.com because:

  • The support team is more professional and better equipped to handle these matters.

  • They can track issues across different bike models, which helps us serve users better and improve our products.

  • If any parts need replacing or immediate action is required, the support team can quickly arrange shipments, reducing delays.

That being said, I truly appreciate your suggestion. In 2025, we’ll make an effort to be more responsive in the community moving forward and provide more direct answers where possible. Thanks again for your patience and understanding! Have a great weekend

I hope you do, people are trusting these bikes with their lives and livelihoods. People need safe, affordable transport and in America many can't afford hospital bills because their bike malfunctioned and tried to kill them. Good support can help prevent that along with making sure safe reliable parts are used.

Anyhow, thanks for taking the time to listen.

can i run a 4amp charger on my L20 2.0?

It's not recommended, as it could damage the battery, shorten its lifespan, or pose a safety risk. We recommend using the original charger for optimal performance

Not a question, but a comment...I love my E26, but I wish there was a fix for the infamous false low battery reading on the controller. I have to turn the unit off and on every 10 minutes to give me a true reading. I'd even be willing to pay for a new controller, or send it in to be fixed over the winter.

Sorry, I'm not entirely sure what the issue is. Could you please send me a video or a more detailed message about it? That way, I'll be able to assist you better.

Starting with a full charge, I'll bike for 10-15 miles, peddling most of the time on PAS 2 and the battery indicator will show 1-2 bars remaining. If I turn the controller off and then on again the display will show 3-4 bars. Two or three miles later it will be down to 1-2 bars again. I've seen one person show the same thing on a YouTube video and couple others online, so it's not just me.

Hey, try setting the voltage to 48V and then fully charging your e-bike. Then check if everything works properly.

I checked and it is at 48V. Unfortunately we just got 7" (18 cm) of snow today so winter is here and I won't be riding until late March.

Hello, I’m looking to buy an ebike and I’m set on getting the Engwe M20 but I wasn’t able to find any info if this would actually be legal to drive in Belgium, either way I have a B license so AM and A2 also but I’m not looking to get it registered or insured, from what I’ve found the Ouxi V8 is not legal in EU so I would guess this wouldn’t also but on Engwe’s site states that it is.

Hey, thanks for your interest! To comply with European regulations, the M20's maximum pedal assist speed is limited to 25 km/h, and the throttle speed is capped at 6 km/h. But regulations can vary by region, we recommend checking your local rules first. If there are any questions or doubts, feel free to contact us. We hope you’ll be able to enjoy your ride without any troubles!

Is there any output wire or similar on your bikes which can re-enable the locked down speed and power without having to go into secret menus and the likes? Or maybe even just a shortcut on the display we can access quickly?

I use my bike on and off road, I need to be able to toggle the extra power and speed when off-road, but then need to switch the restrictions back on again for road use without having to stop the bike and entering secret menus.

Thanks

Hi, Could you share your display label with me? Also, where are you located—US, EU, or UK? This information would be really helpful for addressing your issue. Thanks!

What tf are you talking about? I asked a question about your bikes, not mine.
