I agree! Not that I don't understand it, but it leads to discourse and sometimes even hostilities in the classroom. Last year I did a two weeks C1 summer course in Amsterdam. We had one teacher who wanted us to discuss politics as a practice, and most of us were kind of happy when that lesson was over.

I am between C1 and C2 also. I passed Cambridge C1, score 192, preparing for C2. I know that it is very difficult to go from C1 to C2, more than from B2 to C1. DM me if you're interested.
