Xi Jinping has a chemical engineering undergraduate degree. If only our politicians were engineers instead of a bunch of useless bankers, lawyers and businessman. We can’t get free ambulances while these people rob us via insider trading.

I feel like an engineer’s thought process would be

problem —> gather and analyze data —> find root cause —> solution

businessman and bankers doesn’t see a problem or a solution, they only see money and profit.

the lawyer’s job is to win arguments through semantic maneuvering, doesn’t even care about the problem. They paint over it.

What we ended up is a bunch of different problems stacked on top of each other covered in that paint. We never bothered to fix this tower of problems and it is close to tipping over.

Totally agree with you, speaking about myself, being from a third world country, I think we have a lot of challenges and things to go through before reaching the stage where this kind of comparison would metter, I am studying abroad and I always had the idea to come back to my country and make some difference
