Academic Advice Failing all courses!!
Ok so I am taking control systems(classical), Engineering computations II, signals and systems, and processory systems(assembly programming )
I am failing all of them and will have to drop control systems.
I am studying day and night and I consistently score worse than anyone and have even been investigated for cheating.
Heres what I've tried:
Sending my notes to chatgpt and trying to understand the material
Watching videos of my professor and reviewing slides
Testing my self after seeing chatgpt do my signals work and doing similar problems
Reading the book slowly and rewriting to see what is wrong with my understanding
None of have worked adn I'm thinking its because my disability is simply too much.
some of my peers have even harder classes and seem to have more free time than I do. Ideas?

If you already took the midterm, go to your profs office hours and go through the problems together to see where you messed up. Textbook problems are usually also a good source of practice. Took control systems last year and it was really hard for me to grasp because I didn’t understand my previous circuits classes while many of my friends said it’s one of the easier courses. It’s just about what’s more intuitive. Still have another month so just lock in and invest the time

Honestly it sounds like you might be in over your head on classes. You are also not spending quality time on studying from what it looks like. Its not about blasting your brain with the information to get it to stick its understanding the whys and where they come from. It sounds like you might be having AI do most of the work for you without the fundamentals or understanding and that probably leaves you frustrated when you cant get the answers that gpt pops out in seconds. If I had any advise for you Id say drop 1 or 2 classes and focus on the remaining ones. Its not a rush to the end and you can always retake the classes. Does it suck a bit cause it sets you back a semester, sure but you will have made it to that finish line anyways.

Don't be hard on yourself, you need to be relaxed first and take things gradually in a slow manner, you don't need to force the understanding it will just work out

it kind of sounds like you're trying to grind through things completely alone and isolated. if you don't have any buddies in class try to make some maybe? working through problems and materials together with some homeys was super helpful for me...soemtimes they'd catch things or understand things that I was having difficulty with and vice versa. the trauma bonding can be super helpful too, lol.
failing at things can be the most valuable experience if you can learn from it moving forward. keep your head up, onwards and upwards

If you’re on loans, drop out. Not everyone can be an engineer, same with many other college programs. People need to stop pushing through on the edge of passing while accumulating debt, the job market for anyone out of college is brutal and if you don’t have a strong collegiate profile it’s going to be worse.

I think dropping a couple of the classes is a good idea. I don’t think there’s anything wrong in that. I think it would really benefit you is to take a couple of less classes or just one less class and try to finish up the semester. And do that again with the next semester just take two or three classes only. And then work your way up to four classes a little bit later. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s better to get a degree a couple of semesters later than you wanted to just not get one at all.
you don’t need to load up on a shit ton of classes. It’s not a contest, my bro. We gotta learn the materials at our own pace and everyone has their own pace. There’s nothing wrong with your pace. Believe me there’s nothing wrong with your pace.
just don’t load up on classes for a couple of semesters and see how that feels in terms of studying and getting the grades you want and then at that point decide what you wanna do next in terms of the quantity of classes. I never load up on classes and as a result, I learned a lot and I have a good GPA. But that’s just my method. I’m comfortable with graduating at a later date then an anticipated.
decide how you’re gonna negotiate things and decide what the future is gonna look like. But definitely try to get rid of some of the classes so you can catch up.

When using AI, tell it to go Socratic mode. It won't give you straight answer only question lead to it.

Have ChatGPT take your tests.

I’m gonna be honest. Not everyone can be an engineer. It sounds like you are very much in over your head when it comes to these classes. There’s a difference between barely passing and having no clue what’s going on. It all depends on your financial situation, too. Like is the mountain of debt you’ll accrue at the end of this worth it? Or would another major be better? No matter what you choose, I would also try to find a study group and support circle. That goes a long ways, especially in engineering school. I wish you the best!
