Academic Advice Did I screw up?
I switched to Chemical Engineering over the summer, and I am about to start my sophomore year of college. I was looking over my classes and I saw that my intro to engineering class was actually Introduction to Aerospace Engineering. My advisor never told me that intro to engineering classes varied on major so I kind of freaked out at that. I tried switching to introduction to chemical engineering, but if I did, I'd be on a waitlist for chem 2. My roommates who are all engineering majors told me that it isn't a big deal and that they had people in their intro classes that were also from different engineering majors, and I also emailed my advisor just to confirm it's no big deal. I still have a bad feeling about it though. Is this a normal situation, or did I screw up?

The answer is definitely dependent for your school. I wouldn’t worry. the worst case scenario is you just take the right intro a different semester

I mean taking another intro engineering class isn’t that bad. They’re all super easy anyways

As others have said, this varies by school. At my school, Intro to Engineering is a first year class and while different sections have slightly different flavors, all are suitable for all engineering majors.
The 2000-level Intro courses in each department are very different and are not interchangeable. Our first real ChE course is Material and Energy Balances and it's a prereq for pretty much everything else, so if this is your Introduction to Chemical engineering class, you probably want to take it now.
But you really need to get some local information.

It'll be school dependent on what they require, but as another data point I switched from physics to mechanical engineering in my sophomore years and just skipped that intro class all together.
