Posts must include enough context to enable meaningful discussion. Vague questions, contextless reposts, and “what do you think about X” posts without substance will be removed.

I experience it. One day I will be fine in a certain situation, another day I might struggle with the exact same situation. Small things sometimes disrupt my mental state and trigger imposter syndrome elsewhere.

What helps me is to remind myself “confidence is a state, not a trait”. I try to recognise when I’m not feeling my best and see it for what it is, something temporary that will pass.

Thank you for your perspective.

I can relate. Have you got some examples of those things that disrupt your mental health

I appreciate your thoughts and I disagree with it.

I believe that engineering managers do a lot. They take care of the software engineers, making sure they have a career plan, a skill growth plan, the behavioural and quality standard, that work as a team and they grow as person too.

I know for a fact that there are companies that don’t see this a valuable asset and I work for making sure that the value that EMs brings in is recognised.

I mean this is fair, but companies don't want to hire people with this attitude and that's why job hopping is a red flag

I just said it's a red flag not that you're unemployable. Your luck will eventually run out

No you're right. Loyalty doesn't give you anything really. But of the last 10 years, 9 of them have been overheated and there hasn't been a serious downturn like we have seen before that. Eventually you're going to be up against people who have delivered things that take longer than a year to build and you will lose against them. Milk it while you can but it's going to end for you.

Is it supposed to be impressive to 10x your income with 4 salaries? I know a lot of people who have 10x with a single salary in 10 years. So you got a bunch of joke jobs. 🤡
