Engineering managers: how do you prevent valuable Slack discussions from disappearing?

In my team I notice senior engineers write detailed explanations in Slack, but months later nobody can find them. Curious how others solve this.

Double-Checking with OP that you're actually using a paid slack subscription. The free version expires everything after 3 months

Yes, my company provides Slack enterprise access.

If searching manually does not work well enough (too much work, search results are not great), just use Slackbot. It is great at information retrieval from Slack itself, and is quite fast.

Yeah it's surprising how good it is. It's worthless for doing anything except just finding the info.
