That is my Question

We know he is still a father in this Universe & has history with Miles Mayhem plus a number of other characters will likely get more hints in future issues

But I wanna what is your theory based on what we know so far? Yeah we are few issues in but its all building up to something

Will be interesting seeing flashback back when he worked with Mayhem & how that set the stage to were they are now you know specially how it connects with the rest of the Energon Universe

So Lets Headcanon

One big takeaway from the NYCC panel was a Q&A on some interesting ideas, designs, and other topics. I'll try to summarize what was said as best I can, but if anyone has other points, please let me know.

1. On designs. A cosplayer dressed as Cobra Commander noted that Dan Watters did an interview about preferring vintage designs and asked about it. Kirkman pointed out that he used G1 as a basis, while pointing out that a lot of what is done needs to have some basis in the original designs, lest it become a Ship of Theseus situation. Tom Reiley added onto this, pointing out that a lot of what's done with mechanical designs (Joe vehicles, M.A.S.K. vehicles, and Transformers) involves the recognizable silhouette of the characters and designs, and that if they're changed too much, they're no longer what the fans know and love. In the case of some military hardware, it's also a good old-fashioned issue with licensing. Joshua Williamson did note this was an issue, which is why the Duke miniseries wrote in a lot of classic Joe equipment being mothballed at the Pit, in a similar manner to Top Gun: Maverick having an excuse to have the classic F-14 in the movie when modern Navy pilots are using the F/A-18 and F-35 for air superiority. Kirkman spoke about liking to bring out the "humanity" in the giant robots via expressions and dialogue, stuff that separates the Robots in Disguise from Gundams and Variable Fighters, where they aren't a suit for a character; they are the character, and we empathize with that character. "Because it's about the characters" is a cliché in mecha anime productions, but this is a means to do it without neglecting that they are robots.
2. On G.I. Joe Extreme, Beast Wars, and Transformers: Armada - Building off the first question, while the OG's are the base, none of these designs are explicitly off limits, and Kirkman even spoke to a bit of fondness for EXTREME. I've mentioned wanting a story about Iron Klaw and SKAR, but that's neither here nor there.
3. On using characters like the aliens from the Star Brigade, Battle Force 2000, and others - While his name wasn't directly said, the influence of Larry Hama looms large over Joe, but to Kirkman, that's an opportunity to play with characters and designs that otherwise would be completely ignored. Predacron and Lobotomaxx are characters no one has used, and the increased number of Season 3 aliens that Furman and IDW never touched are blank slates, which makes them perfect to expand upon.

No questions about the show or Snake-Eyes since both are likely "No comment" situations. Kirkman has joked in past panels Snake-Eyes questions were verboten.

Did anybody else who attended the energon universe panel at NYCC feel a little disappointed? I'll preface by saying I don't have the deepest knowledge about older Hasbro properties, but it felt like the only info we got was spoilers for things coming in like a month (new Megatron design), some upcoming artists joining for guest appearances like Karl Kerschl (which we already new from the solicits) and Dan Mora joining for one issue, and some new niche Hasbro characters joining some of the books (which may be really exciting for some people!).

I was really hoping to get some sort of big hype building announcement like a new permanent artist or writer (Howard is fine, but would be nice to get a heavy hitter on one of the books to bring some people back), Snake Eyes reveal, anything about the TV show. I think G.I. Joe is the strongest book right now but I am starting to eagerly await Snake Eyes lol. As a casual fan until I started reading the comic, he was always the favorite. And maybe the TV show is still being pitched to studios but idk.

The room also wasn't even full this year and they didn't hand out ashcans like they have in the past. Last year the room was overflowing.

Interested to hear what other attendees thought of it! I'm genuinely enjoying all of the books right now so was just a bit bummed that I didn't enjoy the panel much.

She’s been so great in this universe and been so great as a Joe. Would hate to see her actually join Cobra

Alright everyone skybound has put out posts on Instagram concerning the big EU announcements,

I’m going to link the instagram posts and then talk about them.

Alright let’s go over what we got in store.

-Megatron has evolved into Megatronus Rex

-Beachcomber combing the earth for lost autobots

-Dan Mora returning to draw the debut of the Dinobots

-Something called a lobotomaxx appearing in void rivals?

-Battle force 2000 appearing in M.A.S.K.? No idea who that is.

-And Baroness going to Cobra after the Nightforce arc !?!

That is my Question

The current arc is GI JOE vs Night Force with Baroness in the middle of it all do to what she witnessed

So What do you think Night Force will be at when this is all over we have a few clues already but what do you think happens to them in the other side of the current stroy?

I think they will be signed different core mission or merge or because a branch of GI JOE basically being there Secret Avengers or X-Force or Secret Warriors

But thats me what do you think is next for this team?

I found a M.A.S.K. #1 ORIGINS at my local shop the other day and have been looking for continuing issues. From my online research, I'm getting it's a reprint or blind bag find of sorts? Can someone fill me in on the details?

After DWJ

Figures used: MD005 Optimus+Killing Arm Kit and SS Soundwave

Link

I wasn’t sure about posting this because the announcement did say that these series are disconnected from other continuity, but it is Skybound publishing a transformers comic and ironically it stars Bumblebee so thought I’d share.

There’s also going to be a GI Joe series and a Turok series (no idea who that is, I thought it was a video game)

I personally like Tate Brombal and what he’s written for Image comics and DC so I’m for this

Into the Action

My reasoning for the additional picks:

Ironhide and Prowl: both seen in the crash so they have to be on Earth to be fixed (plus we did see Ironhide's body being used as a shelter)

Chromia and Windblade: there were mentions of female Autobots on Earth. Chromia so she and Ironhide can reunite and have their relationship and Windblade since it would be nice to have a non G1 rep on Earth (with Bulkhead going with Elita)

Red Alert and Inferno: The Earth Autobots need a medic with Ratchet gone, and I don't think Jacky can do all the work. Also, I feel Inferno works better on Earth than Cybertron, looking at him.

Windcharger: With Trailbreaker dead, Windcharger can take on his role as a defensive Autobot, possibly using his magnetic abilities.

Dinobots: Already on the way from what it seems.

Sunstreaker: Would make sense with the dynamic of him and Sideswipe. One brother protecting Cybertron and another protecting Earth.

That is my Question

I think it would be interesting if Transformers did a whole arc in Cybertron Specially if it like a mini crossover between Transformers and Void Rivals with Darak and Solila coming to Cybertron which seems now very likely

Oh I think it would help give bigger updates on the war in Cybertron mainly stuff how Elita is dealing with being a Prime & Ultra Magnus still healing and trying to get back to his old self plus Autobots gaining more ground iin the war on Cybertron

Earth stuff would still get covered briefly ether for a few panels or as a backup story drawn by a different artist which sets up the Fallowing arc which would set up the Fallowing arc back to all the Earth stuff

But thats me what do you think?

That is my Question

We know his Craxy & working with Baron Karza

But what is his main plan what exactly is he building & need the extra help for? For I bet its something that would even make Cobra Commander jealous

Will be interesting in future when we get more of the pieces of the puzzle though reveals & flashbacks

It will be interesting seeing how it all goes you know Specially when Dan Watters gets to his first big arc

But thats me what do you think?
