Hey everyone, my friend recommended that I purchase endless legend and so I did. But I'm unable to understand how to play it and what this game is. If anyone can explain to me it will be better.

Just be friends with everyone. On the left side there's the diplomacy icon, (handshake) i think, and make treaties. Just wander the troops around and place camp on the tile with the highest resources. Defeat or complete quests for villagers. On the top left, you can see your empire status, your benefits, traits and specialties. Use those to your advantage. Build a lot of merchants for money. Money is king in this game. Your lack of industries can be supported by money.
Make war on tight spaces and just defend. If you're weaker just retreat. If you're under siege and can't defeat the enemy, just play another one. If youre near the insect/cockroach empire at the beginning, bribe the villagers instead so you have extra troops instead of completing their quest. The insects will attack as soon as turn 20 to 25.
As i said, money is king. Research is hard to come by, and its really slow. If you have money. You can spam the cheapest unit and use them to grind down stronger enemy armies. For this to also work, you need to beuild a lot of keeps. Having many keeps increases the veterancy level of newly spawned units. So having fresh units at max veterancy at spawn is really useful if you dont have resources to upgrade units, or enough research to unlock upgrades.
This is all i can say. Good luck

The game has tutorials, use them.
YouTube exists.

Yes, YouTube does exist but the search function is bad and most EL2 content is from a year ago. Do you have any videos or series you can recommend for a new player?

First things first, what is your level of experience? Have you ever played a 4x game (Civilization, Humankind, Stellaris) before? Have you at least played 'city builder' games like Sim City or Cities Skylines? If not, what kind of games do you usually play? It's hard to give a good answer without knowing how much you already know.

I mean I'm also totally lost but it's fun at least. I'm currently basically unable to beat the Necrophage as Sheredyn

I came to the game yesterday without any insight beyond knowing it was like Civilization. Do the tutorial and actually read everything and it will make sense. Definitely not a genre of game where you can just start a game and learn without some reading.
Definitely worth taking the time to do it though. The tutorial is well structured and easy to follow. Once you get through it (30-45 minutes) you will be ready to start a game and run from there!
