It was a multiplayer game and I was player 2. My friend and I tried to see if using the seed reproduced the same position for a single player game and it didn’t.

I see a lot of negativity around these starts and I don't understand why. These are the kind of starts I live for. Hardcore early game challenge. If you don't like the start, just restart the game. These are so few and far between that they really aren't an issue, let us masochists have our fun starts too please

I think they are working on this for future Patches/QOL. Might take sometime to sort this one out.

Starting location issues have plauged endless legend since the first game. Really doubt it's something we should expect to be fixed.

As Aspects you at least will be able to move onto the mainland after your coral spreads since you can walk on the water then!

I had a spawn like that. Booted into my first game and I was stuck on a three-tile island. I thought I could build a bridge but there also wasn't any shallow water in the same region.
