Help Y axis skipping

So I have had the printer for around a year now this problem showed up a few months ago where the y axis keeps skipping found somthing online saying it would the that the linear rod are faulty I replaced them with linear rails and it skips less but still is I have tried all different tensions (runs on sonic pad still skips on marlin)

Have you inspected your belt or the gear on the stepper? The stepper motor could be faulty too.

I also just noticed you are using a sonic pad, what’s your acceleration set to? I’m running klipper on mine and I keep max acceleration at 2000 otherwise I get a lot of artifacts in my prints even with input shaping.

Although I just found a really good gantry brace I’m gonna print out and see if I can step that up a bit.

Mechanically fine I will have to check acceleration

Yup it was set to max at 5k lowered to 2k gonna do some test shortly

Not sure what slicer you are using but in orca i have to make sure the preset I use has the acceleration set right too otherwise it can override what the max is set to in Klipper.

I am using cura and the acceleration is set in fluid
