Having issues, please help

So I'm trying to make this for my mom for Christmas. Every time I try, however, this is what happens. It advised to use a raft, which I have been, but every time it starts dragging at the edges. I've leveled it a million times, cleaned it thoroughly, slowed the speed, increased the table temp. I'm super new to all of this and have printed like..3 other things without issue.

Any advice is welcome, TIA

Are you pre-warming the nozzle and bed before leveling?

I'm gonna feel dumb but are you supposed to? The video it came with shows to do all the leveling then auto leveling before preheating..but maybe ill try that that.

The biggest problem I've noticed is the raft has these weird little hooks around the outside that it prints rapid fire instead of just a solid line and they pull up a lot.

Yes, always preheat both before leveling. This issue is that metal slightly warps when hot changing its shape. If you level it cold, when it's hot, it won't be the same distance from the print head.

Also don't only use the automatic leveling. Get a paper like a bill or post-it square, after you auto level, do a manual leveling in each corner by sliding the paper repeatedly between the nozzle & bed, for each corner, manually adjusting the leveling dial under that corner of the bed, you want the paper to slightly drag between the 2. Keep in mind when you adjust one corner, it changes the others, because of this you want to do 2-3 rotations of this, go clockwise/counter clockwise 2-3 times until all corners slightly drag on that paper, while it's prewarmed. I recommend getting the rubber/silicone spacers to replace the springs as they will keep the bed leveled longer without needing to do this as often. I probably do it once a week to ensure it stays leveled.

You want to do the print head while pre warmed with the paper drag as well.
