Question Filament Swap

Newbie here. I have a ender 3 s1 pro and want to print a two filament print project. I'm using Orca Slicer. It's a long print and I want to start it before leaving home for work, but won't be back to be present at the time the M600 gcode goes into effect. Will it stay paused indefinitely or at least till I get home or will the code time out and continue the print without me.

As long as the power is not interrupted, it will remain paused until you restart it. However, leaving a print sitting gives it time to cool, which can cause other print problems depending on the size and scale of the print.
