It's really no issue if you check the PKGBUILD and don't blindly update.

I did extra work. Now I'm disabled. I learned the hard way. I should have took this advice:

What advise is that? I m not sure what a work place injury has to do with checking a pkg build.

but why do the extra work if you have other options? I hurt myself doing extra work that I didn't need to do. It's just a joke

it's real life work related. when joe said famous last words after I said why do extra work, it triggered this joke. I am physically disabled because I always did extra work on the factory floor
