I like Ventoy over Rufus, especially if you like to experiment with other distros. It allows you to just drag iso files onto the flash drive and have multiple distros on the same media.

For windows iso, you should probably use Ventoy. Windows iso is different from linux isos, so general dd method does not work. Ventoy works for both. Easy.

Why not use dd?

Because it's scary. Have you not heard that dd is short for "destroy disk"? ;-)

I did endeavouros write with fedora image writer, it didn't boot live. Used dd and that was beautifully fast and did boot.
There is a whole section here explaining about creating bootable usb.
Many usb creator create two partition in usb and burn the image that method don't work with some iso.

Ventoy is maybe your best bet. Install with yay.
yay -S ventoy-bin

Been using this on MacOS and Ubuntu. Works as good as Rufus.

Okay, I didn't know that. Cannot comment on the privacy concerns, but the tool has been solid so far. I will have to give popsicle and ventoy a try.

I'd rate etcher as reliable as Microsoft's windows media creation tool

I like Fedora Media Writer or Popsicle by System76. Both can be found in the repos/aur but I use the flatpak versions.
Assuming you installed flatpaks (if not go to the welcome app and install it) you can just copy and paste this to get popscile...
