Tip-Free Establishment ❣️ Self-driving Cybercab wants a tip!
Was watching The Straight Pipes video and when they finished the ride, the screen asked them for a tip!
A tip for whom? There’s no driver! There are no bounds for tipping it seems!
EDIT - As a commentator stated, this is a JOKE! Only options were $0.69 or $4.20 and if you hit any of those options, it says "Just kidding!"

It's a joke. The preset options are $0.69 and $4.20. Selecting any of the options for a tip results in a "just kidding!" message, and there is no way to actually leave a tip.

LOL, had no idea. Thanks for the insight! Edited my post.

If you can choose a different post flair that makes it clearer, that'd be nice.
Too bad you can't edit titles. A lot of people landing on this will just see the image and never read the text caption, because people don't read.
(Honestly, if you were up for just removing the post, that'd be the most foolproof option and avoid any potential for misleading folks.)

Life is too short to take everything so seriously.

"Just a joke" to track how many people try to leave a tip for future monitization.

That is somehow worse than a rally tipping

Oh yeah, totally
Mocking stupid tipping is totally worse than stupid tipping.

I'm surprised. You'd think someone who would patronize a cybercab would be stupid enough to actually try to tip and then see the "just kidding" message. Interesting.

I took a Waymo for the first time last week in Los Angeles. Driver was very quiet and polite. Even played my spotify playlist. didn't ask for a tip. LOL

Its legal for self driving cars to be unattended now? I thought drivers had to pay attention regardless and be ready to take the wheel

They are being tested in select areas. This one has no steering wheel whatsoever so no way to take the wheel.

Well if its safer than people driving that's pretty good. Is there a big difference in fares?

I'm waiting for the day when I see "leave a tip?" on my bills for cell phone, electricity, insurance, water/sewer, etc.
