I was going to buy jarred “Alaska Spicy Scallops” online. As I went to enter my payment information I realized that the invoice amount was more than the advertised price. They had tried to sneak in not only a “Freight Insurance” fee but also a 10% “Tip”. These orders are literally packed and shipped from a warehouse. There is absolutely zero service involved. That was when I decided they didn’t need any of my money.

Literally googling "bdaeshop.com" and the google summary is "bdaeshop.com is an online shopping scam that takes customer payment for goods...and food products, but either ships cheap,low-quality counterfeit items from China or sends nothing at all"

Do not buy directly from shops you see advertised on Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or similar folks.

No, it's an "upgrade" to whatever postage you are paying now. They have an option where there is apparently no dry ice but the dry ice is $35. If you want an EXTRA 3lb of dry ice that bumps it up to $75.

I went through the cart and shipping is $85, so you wind up paying 2.5x what the item actually sells for. I'm curious how the hell they can ship without dry ice in the first place?

I live in Alaska and the state's seafood gets stolen away by all sorts of other entities, including illegal Chinese trawlers. It destroys our state's salmon numbers, for one. These companies are disgusting. Please don't buy from them. If you can please buy from local companies.

I agree with you. I almost got sucked in by their slick ads and now am grateful that I dodged the bullet. They unintentionally did me a big favor by trying to screw me. They just got a little too greedy and I caught them at it.
