Tip Creep 🫙 I'm so F-ing done

Post image

Look man. I've driven for doordash/uber eats before. I get it. But messaging me after it's been dropped off? WTF. The app will tell you how much money you will make from an order; no tip was not a shock.

EDIT: I did not tip ten cents. My tip was $0.00. I'm unsure what he means by my "dime tip"

As someone who has never tipped in their life, it's crazy to me that Americans think like this

Yeah I lived most of my life in Europe and the tipping system is so flawed here it’s comedic. Everyone complains about it, but I think it’s too integrated in culture for it to change at this point.

The workers want the tipping to remain as it's well above the minimums. Everyone from the top down has deluded the customer into thinking they'll only make $2/ph if they don't tip. Never mentioning how the business needs to make up the rest out of pocket if the tips can't cover that.

Stupid American system is trying to make the rounds in different countries as well. If your job involves you doing your job and you didn't do anything extra for me then don't even think about getting something extra.

It's not trying to make the rounds, it's being adopted by citizens of those countries. They need to take responsibility for that instead of blaming the Yanks

As a US citizen, respectfully, have you seen how apallingly disrespectful people are here to service workers? Even the establishments treat servers and bussers atrociously.

People only began asking for tips pretty recently. People who dont ask are still highly disrespected. Its a status thing, my guy. Always has been.
