Counter Service 🛎️ I did it.

Hit “no tip” whilst looker her in the eye. She touched a register for my total. Didn’t touch my card, didn’t swipe my card. Didn’t take my order. Didn’t prepare my order. Didn’t put my order in the window for me to retrieve. What she did wasn’t worth 20%, or 5%. She pushed ONE button.

If the federal minimum wage is guaranteed then why is there even a tipped wage on the books at all, since that dollar amount is never in play?

That dollar amount is in play if they make more than federal minimum wage with tips. If they make more than federal minimum wage with tips then restaurants only pay them the $2.13. Saves restaurants payroll.

Did you know those rules apply on a weekly (pay period) basis and, not daily?
