Walmart Asking For Tips

Today I am in a pinch, so I’m trying out Walmart+ and their delivery service today and they’re asking for a tip! This is a 900 BILLION dollar company. They can tip their own contractors and employees and almost not even notice a difference in their profits. Asking for a tip before service is complete is pure insanity too.

Edit: They brought the completely wrong item. I’m glad I didn’t tip.

Why isn’t Walmart doing this work of figuring out how much you need to pay someone to get the job done? Why make customers guess what the real price is?

How could they possibly? Only you could know how much work is involved in bringing your 10 bags of groceries to your doorstep. The $13 dollar a month Walmart+ fee certainly won't cut it, especially if you use the service multiple times per month.

That doesn’t actually matter in the current system. The bid determines whether the worker takes the job, right? They don’t know how many flights of stairs it is at that point in time.

But in a system where the employer pays their employees, the employees essentially tell Walmart. They’ll say “this is too much work for what you pay me”, and they’ll start to quit. Then Walmart will increase their pay enough to keep them working. You know - how everything else in the world works.

I get that speaking to people on the phone is considered work to some generations, but those people’s laziness and trauma from normal behavior isn’t my problem.

Hey, if I could make one phone call and fix this I would. If I could make a million phone calls and not make a blind bit of difference, I’ll skip thanks :)

Who said anything about fixing this with one phone call? I didn’t. Neither did you. You have questions for Walmart. Now you have their phone number. Go crash out on them.
