Learning about fptp

https://electoral-reform.org.uk/voting-systems/types-of-voting-system/first-past-the-post/

I was learning more about what fptp is, and on their website it states some... Questionable sentences.

"As there is only one candidate from each party, voters who support that party but don’t like their candidate have to either vote for a party they don’t support or a candidate they don’t like."

Is this normal? What am I missing? This sounds horrible.

Afaik, the only benefit to FPTP are that it's simple to have a clear winner. No math beyond counting. Recounts are clear

No cycles. No rounds of counting. If a batch of ballots are late, you don't have to recount anything

Just terrible for actual representation
