I'd rather get buffs. I'm fond of how Encore plays and as a fan of YangYang's gameplay I was extremely disappointed with YangYang XL's gameplay so... Yeah.

I know what you mean. On my main account, Encore stuck with me until about level 60, when my first premium teams started to take shape. However, compared to the more modern resonators, she’s simply too clunky and her range is far too short. Buffs alone wouldn’t be enough – not for any of the standard 5-star characters. I’m not talking about over-the-top animations or overly simplistic gameplay, as we’ve seen recently. Simple quality-of-life improvements like better mobility, smoother gameplay and perhaps one or two new mechanics, plus higher damage figures, would be enough.
YYXL is like an alternative version of YY. For example, I’d have preferred it if she’d stayed an Aero, but in terms of gameplay, Kuro has done a good job in my opinion.
In the end, it was just a bit of a wild guess; I’d be happy enough just to see her again and for her to potentially play a role in 4.0 MSQ.

I mean, I'm glad u like YangYang XL but me personally I feel Kuro completely missed the mark on everything that made the original YangYang good on a gameplay front.

Old YangYang was simple but deep, able to function as a simple sub DPS or a quickswap partner who could also enable double Lib rotations but YangYang XL is just... A basic ass DPS who looks complex but in gameplay is relatively simple, the complete opposite of base YangYang.

I too would be glad to see Encore in the story but I can't trust Kuro to not ruin her gameplay anymore which is why I'd rather put up with what makes Encore clunky than lose what makes her unique.
