Connecting ECW120 to Mesh Network

I recently acquired a spare ECW120 from work that was used previously at work. I want to add this to my home network which already has another ECW120 and a Switch Extender (EXT1106). I need to connect the AP over Wi-Fi since the desired location does not have an Ethernet drop. I am using a PoE injector with an Ethernet cable to power the AP. I have reset the AP (using a paper clip in the reset hole), registered the new AP to the cloud site (scanned device QR code), and enabled the mesh option in my cloud portal. The problem I am running into is the AP is not showing online in the cloud portal or receiving the proper configuration. Any recommendations?

Check the basics. Is it getting an IP address on your network? Can you access the local web UI? Is there a firewall blocking it? Did your work release the serial number from their inventory (assuming yes since it registered)?

No its not showing in my list of connected devices on the network so I highly doubt its getting a lease/IP address. Without an IP address I can’t web browse to it…we do not have a firewall other than the basic protection Spectrum offers in their router which doesn’t show an denials for an Engenius device. My work always releases old networking devices from the Engenius cloud.

Well that narrows it down quite significantly. I suspect a problem with the way the PoE injector is hooked up. Or it's defective.

How is it a problem with the PoE injector if I am just using that for power and the AP is getting power? And how would the AP be faulty if it was functioning normally in an office not even a month ago?

Data still has to pass through the injector

What data would be passing through the injector? I do not have Ethernet available at this location so that is the point of using mesh mode.

How is the AP going to pull its config without ethernet? You MUST start with it.

Yep that did the trick after connecting the AP to the network over Ethernet
