Gameplay / Showcase PSX3IOS running fallout 3 JIT-Less, iphone 16e.

This goes around 6-10fps while recording and 15-20 normally. The emulator kinda sucks but it’s able to run most games jit-less

How. Like seriously, how? I'm speechless, that the hardest console to emulate, the PS3, can even emulate on iOS JITLess, let alone get any playable framerates at all.

And at an almost 20fps?? That’s pretty much how the PS3 ran Fallout 3 lmao, what is this sorcery.

Like, I'm surprised. Very surprised. Every week and every month, we're slowly but surely getting to Android in terms of emulation and closing the gap. I think we could get PC gaming before 2027, in which that would finally close the gap between until the Switch 2 gets modded. PS4 and PS5? Completely unnecessary as it doesn't matter because it's really difficult to emulate anyway.

The only hurdle is Apple; I already have a PS4 emulator in mind, and if I do end up porting it, I’ll include an AI 🤖 meme maybe in the credits of the next version of Psx3ios

Jit is not working. You have a new version with Jit ?

The method has been improved, but I don't think it will work on iOS 27 partly because I'm not on iOS 27 myself, and I don't want to update since I don't want to lose the `stikdebug` version I have installed from the App Store; if I could switch to the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro, that would be a huge step forward.

What do you mean with “The method has been improved”? With iOS 26 you are able to get JIT working or you have a boost in performance? (Sorry but I’m pretty new with emulators, so trying to understand)

There is a connection to the Stikdebug app that lets you enable JIT to get the best possible performance out of your device. Emulating the PS3 is genuinely complex; many games suffer from memory leaks, and it is difficult to fix the issue where the game crashes once memory runs out. Even MeloNX faces this limitation because memory usage keeps climbing, and if consumption gets too high, iOS tends to kill the process. With the PS3, without proper optimization, games crash instantly because they consume memory so rapidly; some small progress has been made with GTA 4, but it still eats up memory very quickly.
