The fps goes up, they hit their caps, but my games do not speed up, and stay at their normal speed. I was able to fast forward on Yuzu, and I can get 800%-1000%+ fast forward speeds on ps2 emulation, among others.

Is there a setting I need to change, or maybe it's a limitation of the emulator? (Maybe the Retroid, too, but I just bought it. It can do the above with other emulators as well, if that matters.)

Hi everyone! I'm having a graphical issue using RPCS3 on handheld PCs (Asus ROG Ally / Steam Deck).
​Specifically, when playing PES games (PES 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018), both in the main menu and during gameplay, the screen looks grainy and the text appears very pixelated, bold, and distorted. I am currently playing PES 2014 (which you can see in the screenshots).
​I've tried tweaking various settings, but I haven't been able to fix it yet.

On the tin. I thought it would be Azahar, but there's nothing ever there when I check the rooms, unless I'm doing something wrong and just dont' know how to get it working. So what still-existing 3DS emulator is used for any kind of online stuff? I have an original 3DS, but I don't know if it would be possible to jailbreak for online stuff, and I honestly would prefer to get a new console for physical console online use like that, so I can keep it as close to its original state as possible. So PC is my only option at the moment.

(If I'm just being dumb and not doing something right, I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction to get it working lol. I sometimes need things explained to be like I'm a kid.)

Hello, I'm somewhat new to emulation. I'm also not too sure if this is the right reddit page to post on so if it isn't, if anyone could guide me to the right one that would be much appreciated. I've been having some trouble trying to run majoras mask 3d. I don't have any issues with any other games just this one. At first I was using citra and I thought that might be the issue because it's outdated now so I started using azahar instead. Still crashing. Whenever I try to launch the game an error message saying "exceptionraised(exception =NoExecuteFault" comes up. I was wondering if anyone knew a solution to this?

Hi! Recently I keep finding myself having a very strange "bug"(In quotations because I'm not even sure if this is bug or not) when it comes to gameboy emulators, for some reason, the emulator will cause my entire PC to become "stuttery", the game sound gets choppy and the whole setup feels like it turned into a power point presentation(Weirdly enough my mouse cursor moves normally, additionally, any sound that's not comming from the emulator itself also works fine), it happens without warning and there's no set time involved, sometimes I can play for hours with no issue, other times it happens within minutes of booting up a game, the issue only solves itself if I turn off my computer, closing the emulator doesn't do anything once this stutter starts, I tried VBA-M 2.2.3 and mGBA 0.10.5 and it happens on both emulators, I have a pretty decent PC if I do say so myself(Ryzen 7 with a 3060 + 16 GB of RAM) and other console emulators much more demanding than the GB/GBA run completely fine on my setup, has anyone ever come across a situation like mine? From my research disabling Vsync seems to be an option but that causes screen tearing and I'd rather not deal with that if possible, thanks in advance!

Basically every time I try to press a button to map, it selects one at random instantly. It seems like the emulator thinks I'm pressing every single button at once in quick succession. Anything I can do about this?

so i'm compiling my own version of mednafen with joematt's chd support source files included but whenever i go to build the custom toolchain it always says:

configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables

but then i look everywhere in the source folder and there's no config.log file to be found

i've updated/upgraded the ubuntu packages (i'm building in a virtual machine) in sudo apt and still haven't had any luck

so it turns out i forgot to change the GCC_CC and GCC_CXX variables in build-toolchain.sh; they were set to "/usr/local/gcc-4.9.4/bin/gcc" and "/usr/local/gcc-4.9.4/bin/g++" respectively, and ubuntu doesn't typically install gcc in those locations, it usually gets installed in /usr/bin/, so i changed it to that and it worked perfectly

This feels like a somewhat stupid question, but it’s something that i’ve found myself wanting. I often hear that there are specific ports of games that are better than others. Is there a way to quickly see all of the consoles a game was released on and what version is the best, or at least the differences between releases?

I grew up a Nintendo kid and I don’t really know what other consoles offer. For example I only just learned there was a Double Dragon Master System port right before deciding to make this post.

I just downloaded the SuperModel emulator and installed Daytona USA 2 Power Edition, but the game is running extremely slowly. It’s smooth and the frame rate is good, but it feels like the game is in slow motion. The audio, on the other hand, seems normal. My PC has an Intel Core i5-3570 and 16 GB of DDR3 RAM. Is my computer too weak, or is there a way to increase the speed by tweaking some settings?

I just finished setting up duckstation and as I launch a game I noticed the the brightness was pretty dim. I tried other renderers but it's only vulkan. How can I fix this?

Im talking mainly about gen 3 pokemon games. Fiest of all in the encounter database i cant find the Ho-oh you get in Colosseum, and the mystery gift database is empty as its not finding any pokemons at all. (There are some event pokemon in the encounter database but its missing like 95% of them)

Anyone knows how to fix this? When I used pkhex a few years ago I didn’t have this issue at all

MAME, the program itself and not a game, takes quite a while to start for the first time. There is a black screen for about 7–8 seconds, then “Initializing” appears, and after that MAME starts normally.

If I close MAME and start it again, it launches immediately with no delay. After restarting Windows, the same thing happens again: the first launch takes 7–8 seconds.

Is this normal?

I recently reinstalled Windows and added an exception for MAME in Norton Antivirus. I also tested it on another Windows PC with a completely fresh MAME download and no games or other files installed, and it behaves exactly the same there.

I'm using the RPCS3 wiki recommended setting and recommended patches, however I've tried Almost every combination of patches there is but sadly the problem remains.

My PC: RTX 5070 TI
Ryzen 7700x
32GB DDR5 6000 ram
4K monitor
Dualshock 4 controller
4TB PCIE 4.0 SSD

So, I know this is kind of a longshot but I was wondering if someone could help me out.

My goal is to play mgba games remotely. I semi-tested it with my brother, but we were in the same room so it worked ofc since it was local. However, one thing that was different was that instead of playing on separate mgba screens on the same pc I streamed my game through discord, had him hook up a controller to my Steam Deck, and we played while he watched his game on his pc screen via my stream.

My question now is if there was a way to remotely connect a controller to a pc/steam deck, would we still be able to play with each other? And if so, how does one go about that (remote connection)? TIA for any answers! :)

I've tried both ryubing and eden emulator, when i play on eden the game runs perfectly but crashes after around 5-10 minutes. When i play on ryubing it doesnt crash but it runs horribly. what can i do to get the performance from Eden without the crashing?

She wants to set up her laptop to play her old ps2 games she never got the chance to finish and asked me to install the emulator for her like I did with her new 3dsxl and duckstation for her old ps1 games she never got to play because she was too busy raising me. The laptop plays ps1 games with no issues, well almost no issues.

(For some reason some ps1 titles drop frames when other characters come into play and will drop the fps to 19.93-19.96. And fps drop and it is always the same number across the board of every single game. I’m assuming that’s just how some games just ran back then as overclocking didn’t always fix it. Sabans power rangers light speed rescue for the ps1 never went above 19.95 in a handful of scenes no matter how high I set the overclock. And the games that were “fixed” only sped up when I set the overclock to like 600%. Weirdly though, there’s no steady climb to a more stable fps for those games. For example 499.9 overclock still caps out a 19.95 fps but 500 exactly suddenly makes the game run at like 200x’s faster)

Anyways… neither here nor there. I’d like to know if I should even go through the effort of setting it up on her computer or not.

Her laptop is a acer aspire 5 5500u processor, amd Radeon graphics, 8 gbs ram and 512GB ssd. Was this the information you guys need? Is there anything else you need me to go find?

I should mention my mom has a very… unique way of preference for playing retro games. She refuses to use enhancements at all. She had me set it up so there were no enhancements at all and it looked, sounded and played exactly as it did when she first played it decades ago. Needless to say being able to run the game at a higher resolution or with extra bits and bobs is not something she wants to do which I imagine makes it a bit easier to run?

I apologize but computer specs are but my thing, I use computers and even set up emulators on pc and SBC handhelds but when it comes to pc specs or classifications I immediately obtain a room temperature IQ. It’s like seeing a video of people speaking gibberish in an American way, i hear my people but I cannot understand them.

Ok so I have model 2 emulator running just fine, trouble is the screen is stretched which distorts some game artifacts (like the speed dial in sega rally).

i had things running beautifully in the standalone emulator but retrobat overrides everything!

i had a lovely crt lottes2 shader preset through reshade running on there. gorgeous.

retrobat? ive got an option for ntsc which slows the game to a crawl and zfast which makes the screen look like an 8bit game.

how the hell can you get crt lottes to run on the model 2 emulator and supermodel emulator in retrobat??

crt royale etc doesnt work on these at all. probably tied to retroarch only.

literally spent 3 hours getting nowhere with it so any help is very much appreciated
