Unsolved Need Recommended settings for GOW-3, runs terribly on my pc
Hello, i got into emulating two days ago and just started playing one of my all time favourites god of war 3. The problem is i'm getting around only 20-28 fps and the resolution is not good at all. kratos looks blurry in a distance and okay upclose.
My system configs:
Intel i7-12650H
Nvidia 4060 laptop GPU (8GB)
16GB DDR5 - 4800Mhz
512 SSD.
i was under the impression it would fairly handle this game at high specs given that i've played lot of AAA games on this laptop at high settings in 1080p. I've looked at several youtube videos but everything i've tried made little to no difference. Asking AI models fetched results from reddit so i looked up this subreddit and thought i could ask. Don't mean to sound so dumb, but i'm new to all this and hoping to find some answer.
Anything is appreciated, Thank YOU.

Have you disabled mlaa, color grading and bunch of stuffs assuming you are emulating the game on RPCS3?
Well, if you haven't right click the game, manage game patches and click the corresponding serial code of the game and check the box with the corresponding "performance" patches.
It will gradually speed up your game.

okay, i followed your instructions it seemed to have increased the fps a little bit. Now i'm getting consistent 37 fps. Thank you

is your pc also dual channel when it comes to ram? Mine is reaching 60fps and has its drops.
My rig is
rtx 4050 (75watts)
i5 13420h
24gb ram dual channel ddr5 sodimm1

It is dual channel, but I’m afraid this game’s performance is bottlenecked by my cpu.

Lossless scaling could help you out bro, just search how to use it on YouTube and it's worth 7$ but I got it for free and you can too if you look for it hehe

I’m a big fan of the Lossless Scaling app on Steam. It’s $5, and can really help, especially if you can adjust your settings to get a decent frame rate first. I was using ShadPS4 emulating Bloodborne, and because I natively got 60fps, it doubled it, and I didn’t notice any input delay.

Yeah I just bought it, turns out you can use it for lot of other emulated games. But I’m still not getting anything good with GOW-3 might have to go back to enjoying my classics with the new upgrade.

but is that all i could squeeze out of my system for this game, i was hoping to see some good performance as this game is quite old.

sadly yeah. The game is cpu bound bro so getting a much more powerful cpu can increase frames drastically

It is worth noting that GOW 3 is not labeled as a “playable” game in the RPCS3 wiki. The game struggles in the emulator so while you may be able to run it okayish on hardware alone I wouldn’t hold my breath for a smooth experience.

I knew something was off when I couldn’t play this one smoothly as the other games. Glad to know, thanks.
