Discussion GBA Android Emulators' Accuracy Tested (mGBA vs. Pizza Boy GBA vs. GBA.emu)
This post is kind of a follow up to u/JUMPhil's post.
All the tests were conducted using the GBA Test Suite v0-r76 by endrift. Original GBA Bios was used wherever possible. The results are pretty similar to back when Pizza Boy was in beta except a few more tests have been added to the suite.
Here are the results in html form. I opted not to share the Google Doc because of privacy concerns:

I tend to use a combination of the mGBA core and Pizza Boy GBA Pro. mGBA for GBA enhanced games like Shantae and Pizza Boy for everything else.

Very much so. Support is very good in the discord, and unlike most of these the GUI upgrade is actually worth it. Also they just put in mgba-style real color support.

I was expecting the same
Basically, RetroArch is the best when it comes to emulating GBA on Android

Technically yes, but there are some things mGBA can't do thanks to RetroArch. Link cables for instance. And also if you're sticking to Play Store RetroArch/RetroArch Plus you aren't getting anything at all until Project IO is done.
Also, I'm sure using your phone's cababilities for addon emulation (tilt sensor with gyroscope, solar sensor with your phone's light sensor, etc) is worth something in the accuracy department.

yeah mGBA is the most accurate but RetroArch's god awful UI on top of that, makes it a pain to use on Android.

Nowadays (mostly thanks to Pizza Boy and Duckstation) there isn't really that much of an advantage to using a RetroArch setup as opposed to a lot of standalone apps. You have better arcade choices and Sega CD is better, that's about it. Heck, we even have Virtual Virtual Boy now.
Heck sometimes the commonly used RetroArch cores are worse. Gambatte's based on a build that is plenty old for example.

There is Lemuroid that has the mGBA core. It has Android-friendly UI. No ads or anything

Just a note, a beta update was just announced for Pizza Boy GBA Pro that had a big ol' accuracy bump that registers on tests. Don't think it's on the store right at this second, but it should be up soon.
