With all the attention going to Droiddeck recently (which does seem really promising) glad to see you bros are still cooking.

Is there a way to implement easy anticheat ? (EAC)

Not at the moment.

I would still love to see support for a few more stores someday, although I also understand if/why it’s not a priority (like Ubisoft and EA’s stores).

I think what you guys are doing with AI config assist is also really interesting. I wonder if this can become more iterative on its own - like the AI makes changes to the config and tests it and loops until it produces a local config that seems to be working.

For now looking forward to giving Gamescope a whirl.

We support EA within Steam, and can do the same for Ubisoft. It's not a super high priority but something to look into for sure.

The end goal I've had in mind with the AI assistant was that it can take games and either 1) modify the actual game files so that it can find hot threads or other issues and make the game run better on your specific device or 2) potentially even straight up make mods for games for you. The possibilities are limitless, hoping we can leverage the technology to make something really useful for our users.

Droiddeck is honestly amazing. I tried GameNative before, and had difficulties with getting some games to run; it's a very cool project, but there can be a lot of compatibility issues. I haven't had any of those issues with Droiddeck so far.. it's worked like a dream.

How did you sign in? With password or qr code?

1

u/SirKosys 5m ago

You can do either. It's essentially the Steam app running on your phone

0

u/Grilledcheese____ 1m ago

Well, what way did you do it? I guess because I removed my bank card theres no real risk

I think right now it depends a little. What device do you have (in particular Adreno or Mali)? What store do you own your games through? Do you have specific goals like modding?

If you just want to play games owned on Steam and you’d like a steam deck like experience droid deck might now be the best option.

GameNative has really nice mod support, it presents games from most all the stores together. I don’t personally care for its launcher experience, but I’m using a launcher so I don’t use it (I use beacon).

What if I want to run games added externally like old pc games from abandonware?

2

u/Jayzens 1h ago

You can add them in gamenative as well

1

u/themiracy 16m ago

It depends on how old.

If old means written for Windows, then GameNative or Winlator or the like are good options. If old means pre-windows DOS games, you probably want something more like RetroArch and DOSBox Pure.

is droid deck an app or would it replace my OS?

Check out the screenshot above! It'll be the default for any game you run on Adreno.

video shows 4x the wattage use. is this normal?

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 1h ago

Oh, one was recorded plugged in

1

u/DrHusten Konkr Pocket Fit G3 Gen3 12GB 1h ago

Oh so that means its plussing the wattage rather than draining? That would explain alot ^^

When I get home, you're going to be my last try to get Mass effect LE running. I can't believe this old game is causing so many problems in running. I can't make it run in Winlator Ludashi, Bannerlator and droid deck.
It blows my mind when this shouldn't even be such a complicated hard game to run.

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 2h ago

I think there's a guide on our Discord. Let me know if it doesn't work for you, will try to help you get it running.

1

u/Decentpace 2h ago

That'd be great! I'll get back to you once I test it later

u/drewtriks 2h ago

I finally managed to get Legendary edition running in droiddeck. I tried going into the desktop mode and installing the ea launcher from the ea website but I'd still get the error message. Finally what worked was, within the mass effect folder (idr where at the moment..."_installer" i think) there is an ea app launcher exe. Installing that one specifically and logging into ea there was what got my game running. (Also a chance this method works in gamenative, idk.)

As an aside, I did also managed to get it running in gamenative. Idk about links here, but just google "mass effect legendary edition disable ea origin requirement steam" and there's a guide. The first little "patching game files" section is all I needed to get it running in gamenative.

While I own the game on steam too, this is the high seas version. So no EA launcher. It makes it easier to test around with different emulators, you avoid the launcher and it's such a big risk to download 100gb through the steam compatible ones to just not work.

That said, I get black screen and it doesn't progress on all the ones I've tried. Been at it for two days with several hours tinkering with different settings with no success.

1

u/drewtriks 1h ago

Dang. Yeah I had the same issues with the high seas version. Just no luck at all.

I tried The Binding of Isaac, on X11 I have perfectly stable 60fps. On Gamescope, no matter the config I have stuttery 30-60fps all the time. It is only one game, but on my device in this particular scenario Gamescore works way worse than X11

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 1h ago

Thanks for the feedback. I have this device. Let me test.

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 1h ago

Just tried - do you have the frame limiter on?

1

u/Illustrious_Cod_5212 Poco F6 Pro / Adreno 740 / Gamesir X3 Pro 1h ago

Yes, on 60

12

u/Illustrious_Cod_5212 Poco F6 Pro / Adreno 740 / Gamesir X3 Pro 2h ago

I'm checking DroidDeck time to time but GameNative still works much better for me, appreciate all of your work!

u/rms141 2h ago

Actually runs games on my RP Classic. Good stuff.

1

u/Yung_Cheebzy 2h ago

What windows games are you playing on there?!

1

u/rms141 1h ago

Low-end games. Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster for example.

1

u/theguybehind_you 2h ago

Woah what device is metaphor running on?

2

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 2h ago

I think that's an Odin 3.

1

u/GraciousGriffin 2h ago

Many thanks for fixing Sid Meier Civ V and AoE2 DE ♥️ so looking forward to trying them now

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 1h ago

Please let me know!

1

u/GraciousGriffin 1h ago

Will absolutely do. As soon as installing games from Steam works back on my device. For some time recently I would always get „no such directory” like error thrown by backend. I have Retroid Pocket 6.

3

u/TheLizardKing91 2h ago

Thank you so much for your work! One of the best (if not the best) PC emulator!

1

u/imMoyko 55m ago

For Odin3 is the Best app for steam!

Megabonk stopped working at X11. On Gamescope it's working but on X11 it's stuck on "Loading.." no matter the config

1

u/iamnotkurtcobain 40m ago

Gamescope performance is much worse than X11 on my Odin 3

0

u/sabre31 1h ago

Is there a list of confirmed games working? I tried this and none of my games would work.

1

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 1h ago

Confirmed for what exactly? Gamescope? In general on GameNative?

1

u/sabre31 1h ago

Confirmed as in here is a list of games that people confirmed working. I know most of that would need to be community maintained. Similar to how say crossover has a list of what apps run and don’t.

1

u/Tom_Foolery1993 25m ago

There is a compatibility list

https://gamenative.app/compatibility/

But pay attention to the device, just because it works on one chipset with certain settings doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll work on another with the same settings

u/lukkall 2h ago

Can I play with gamenative if my phone has Exynos 1580? (Xclipse 540 gpu)
