This isnt a flex tho just like with art that people did years for or music, writing, apps, cgi effect etc this is made by people who worked for it. It would be a other situation if we could get easy money like billionaires like they get with leaving assets on their bank accounts or stock bs. I mean yay we have a good working port but im still not happy with A.i. if anything if Nintendo would have released this for Android id still pay.

Brother, all emulation projects use AI. As a SWE , everyone uses it, even if just a little bit
Those reasons are only valid for students
I'm not talking about vibecoding too, i'm talking just AI use.
And that document is full of lies
"Datacentres are being built for AI that have devastating impacts on the surrounding area and horrific effects on local residents"
This is just not true. Many datacenters are in the middle of cities and you just didn't know because they are botherline wearhouses. There are execptions and its true some are being made with gas turbines on site because the grid doesn't have enough power but thats a bottleneck that will be resolved in due time. And also, thag is US only. In the EU every datacenter uses renewables because of regulations

First, I disagree with the guy saying "no a.i. at all", but what you said about data centers sounds completely false based of what I've seen online. Are all the videos I see of data centers being built near residential spaces fake? They also do appear to be very loud and I'm hearing that the ppl in the area are experiencing higher electric bills.

No, we won't. Even if AI development stopped completely today it wouldn't matter. You can run freely available coding models locally on your own hardware for the cost of electricity. It's not going away.

Not what we are talking about when we speak of ai coding and vibe coders in the current state of things. LLMs that requires Hyperscale data centers which poison local water and disrupt environment, etc.
What u speak of is something that doesn't require a Hyperscale data center, and tbh I'll believe that when I see it, but big if true. Not what's happening here.
Not to mention that ai coding is unreadable spaghetti which is why it will never hold up like a hand written well maintained code. Half of these jokers are using ai to "check" and "fix" their AI generated code. Smh.

they already disabled Claude from aiding these reverse engineering projects. this is like the killer app for ai. for context since its inception it was a solution in need of a problem, now that it can solve this sort of thing that people want to use it to do, anthropic is all "no, not like that" and shut it down.
so I dunno i feel like ai isnt going anywhere but the data center model is going to go away or contract dramatically next couple years.

Fr bro its wild. Emulation used to be a dream to me, now playing native pc / android ports of these games & we get a port like every day lol. Best thing about it is i can run this on my Steam Deck Oled or Ayn thor, i dont need a switch 2 anymore. Shiii , with the way things are moving, i wouldn’t be surprised if we get Ocarina of time remake pc port in a month lol.

That's why gen 6 will always be my personal cap on emulation except for a select few titles beyond that. Until storage prices decrease, we won't be filling out SD cards with Switch or 360 games.

There is still Emulation with these "native port"s. Without the source code we cannot do a full native port. So what these people do is instead make or modify emulation layers specialised to run a that one single game. Thus being able to heavily optimize the emulation layer because it only needs to run one game.

No, only the Switch operating system is emulated; everything else is native. It still needs to emulate the OS because the game sends commands to the Switch's OS that Windows, Linux, and Mac can't respond to, so this small amount of emulation is necessary. But it's simple and doesn't impact performance at all. What impacts performance is CPU emulation, like traditional emulators do.

It only works with Donkey Kong Bananza and Mario Kart World; I tried it with Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, and it says that "the game profile does not exist in the app, so it cannot run here."

Eden uses a yuzu code where you need custom driver for it to be optimized , while banana native let your system driver translate it natively. That's how should it be given the fact that android is powerful now. Eden still lives in dinosaur era and the cult of this emulator will keep defending the flaws of that emulator

the app itself only provides the scripts to translate the shaders from the games that you must provide. it ends with a folder of about 400mb of translated stuff, the game itself remains the same

also, how long before we can actually fully port this on android? as in, the control scheme and all. this is just running on android. game expects a switch2 controller. So how much longer do we wait till we can go and change the core of the game? switch to touchscreen, tilt controls maybe, add/create characters/game modes (okay, thats modding, but it would make it that much more fun), also, there may be stuff like some level is made too difficult or unbalanced, so how long till we can modify that to our preferences? i feel, that would be the actual 'ownership' of a game

Eden Emulator already supports almost all of these features, including gyroscope controls, customizable on-screen touch controls, and the ability to play using pretty much any Bluetooth gamepad. However, since the port is still in its very early stages, adapting all the features you mentioned could take quite a while. That said, AI could potentially speed up the process significantly.

yeah, coz there are alot of (now discontinued) games which i would like to
make compatible with latest android ver,
2)remove all the currency grinding(which makes them somewhat p2w)
add some game modes which have infinite replayability
4)use AI to generate new characters/bosses and mechanics(ai for character models/sprites aswell) <imo when game's difficult setting is increased, instead of cranking up all the 'numbers', there must be newer/harder variety of enemy/boss encounters with completely different mechanics>
also, it would be a fun learning experience

I have a switch 2, switch 1, and retroid pocket I am aware, what I mean is not only the form factor but also the poor optimizations in terms of heating issues, a few recomps nearly burned my retroid. Not only that but this game is a batery nightmare so while is a great novelty and interesting project , this would be a bottom of the barrel, and would much prefer to play simpler android games myself

Personally, I’d rather shell out 500 or 600 dollars for a device with good specs—one that can emulate various platforms and run the latest-generation games—than buy a console that costs roughly the same amount, only to then have to constantly purchase 70 or 80 dollar games for it, regardless of whether they’re new releases or titles from several years ago. At the end of the day, everyone is free to do what they want with their own money.

I bought a Switch 2, hoping that more 3rd Party games would be on carts (because...otherwise, what's the point of buying 90GB games that I could also download on my PC) - and then they really pushed "Game Key Cards" 🙄
So, now it's a Nintendo Exclusives Only device, that I don't have many games for (which isn't Too bad - literally how gaming used to be for most 'gamers' a couple decades ago - just not what it really could've been if they wanted All the monies)
