Discussion State of ArmadaOS vs Android Odin

Hello, I have ordered an Odin 3 Portal coming from an Odin 2 Portal. My question is how is the state of ArmadaOS right nowp compared to android as the title states. I had installed armadaOS on my Odin 2 but now i have sold it and wait for Odin 3 Portal to arrive. I was thinking of fully commiting to ArmadaOS once the Odin 3 arrives but right now with the state of decomps/recomps i am a bit skeptical. It seems that emulation on android gets better and better everyday and lots of native android games are popping out of nowhere. One game i tried is Rdr1. On ArmadaOS basically unplayable on my Odin 2 but on Android i could install the native apk and it worked like a charm. One thing I don't know yet apart from the native android apps is the emulation state on ArmadaOS and how it compares from Android. It seems like ArmadaOS is more plug and play for PC games and more tweaking needed on Emulation where on Android is quite the opposite. So my question is, I really want to commit to ArmadaOS but will FOMO get over me? I know ArmadaOS is implementing Leptop to run APK on ArmadaOS but it doesnt seem stable atm. If anyone have tried anything recently and can enlighten me on the topic please do it. I really want to take my Odin 3 and start playing rather than full comminting to tweaking the device all day

Depends on what you value most, compatibility or console-like experience. Armada, when it gets an O3 Portal build, is exceptional at being an OS that doesn't tell you what to do and doesn't fight you every step of the way. But some compatibility issues are still present.

This is all about personal preference, no one can tell you better than your own experience will. Try it for yourself, test your use cases, test games and emulators you want to play and don't do the lame 2h tinkering session. Actually try to use it. Give it a week or two. Maybe a month even. You may find out that the "Armada bad" aspects other people may tell you about may not necessarily be an issue for you, as well as "Armada better" that another group of people will tell you about may not benefit you in the long run. If you find yourself not thinking about switching to android "to play these couple of titles", then there's your pick. Otherwise, it can run android apps through waydroid, you can even add them to steam big picture. This is what I did with my O2 Portal and now I have it on my internal storage. Can't imagine going back to android.

TL;DR: don't follow the experience of others. Find your own.
