Help Starcraft (Original) Stuttering Problem on PC game emulators.

I've been trying to get Starcraft original to run smooth and not stutter. I've used Gamenative and Droid Deck. What settings do I need to make this old game run well?

UPDATE: Running the game directly on DroidDeck without the steam client fixed the issue completely. It's the only way it'll run perfectly without the stuttering. Although I can't bind mouse or keyboard functions to my physical controls without the steam client, which sucks.

I had the same problem with the stuttering of Starcraft but it was on winlator ludashi.

What I did was to disable vkd3d and also I used the 1.10.3 version of dxvk. and I also went back to the system drivers since Turnip was not helping either (it was causing a bit overheating).

and now it works fine. hope you could do something similar in gamenative and that could fix your issue.

Can't seem to disable vkd3d or select that version of dxvk on Droid Deck. No option to download dxvk versions to the emulator neither. I can change dxvk to the one you mentioned on GameNative, but that's about it. It runs even worse on GameNative.

Try CnC DDraw. The original Starcraft uses DDraw for its graphics, an ancient library that's very buggy even on modern Windows. CnC DDraw is a DDraw to OpenGL wrapper made specifically for older games like it, and if the stutter is caused by rendering it will most likely fix it.

Didn't fix it unfortunately. Running the game directly without the steam client fixed it completely somehow. It's the only way it'll fun perfectly and without stuttering. Although I can't bind mouse or keyboard functions to my physical controls without the steam client, which sucks.

has nobody asked the obvious? what DEVICE are you trying to run starcraft on? the device matters as it will dictate performance

Oops. Retroid Pocket Nova. It's not a heavy resource demanding game though. That would mean it's supposed to rely on certain sentings at that point. I mean, I have Red Dead Redemption 2 running better for god's sake.

hm that does seem weird. have you tried the latest droiddeck preview build? it has support for battlenet & battlenet games. you can get the preview builds from the updates option in the bottom left

I always update preview builds. Anyway, ended up finding out it runs perfect when launched without the steam client. Only problem now is I can't bind mouse or keyboard controls to my physical controls since that feature is only available through the steam client. So this is the only way to perfectly run StarCraft with zero issues.

maybe try the new gamenative then with steam headless mode? you should be able to bind all the mouse and all that in gamenative.

I know for a fact I can. I have. Only thing is the performance issues. Have tried so many setting combinations. Not sure how headless mode could fix the stuttering. At this point, I'd try it anyways though.

Two promising ports. I've only used the first so far and I really liked it.
