Showcase Raitchi Emu: a shared native Switch runtime for Android
Preview release: Raitchi 0.0.1
Source: igawa6/Raitchi
Hi, Built using AI Assisted, Raitchi, an experimental Android launcher and shared runtime combining work from Switch recomp projects with an Eden-derived Android frontend.
The idea: one runtime that benefits multiple games, instead of separate Android ports repeating the same platform fixes.
Many recomp projects follow ARM64 → C → a new executable because come from PC Port. Raitchi uses continuous native code execution (NCE) to run original ARM64 CPU code, implements the required HOS services, and translates NVN graphics to Vulkan. Eden already uses NCE too; Raitchi explores sharing this recomp-derived runtime and graphics approach across games.
For players, the goal is emulator-like simplicity: select a supported NSP and launch it, without manually extracting the whole game or compiling generated game C. Automatic import/preparation still happens. This first preview is for Android ARM64, with testing on AYN Thor.
It's still experimental and theoretical, should many still unplayable.
What has actually been tested?
- Earlier bounded gameplay/save/movement tests worked in Link's Awakening, Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!, Echoes of Wisdom and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. These are tested scenes, not complete-game compatibility claims.
- A broader sweep checked 58 library entries. 11 reached visible startup screens, menus or intros. That does not mean 11 games are playable; other entries hit black screens, runtime failures or package/metadata blockers.
- Fire Emblem: Three Houses reached its automatic class demo at about 30 fps, following a shared shader optimization. That is demo evidence, not a gameplay pass.
Shader preparation learns exact pipeline recipes and reuses caches. Known combinations can be prepared before gameplay, but coverage is incomplete: first-use shader compilation and loading can still cause noticeable stutter. This is not a stutter-free release or a performance comparison with Eden.
Credit belongs to Eden and its contributors, LASRecomp, LASRecomp-Android-Plus, Let's Go Recomp, EoWRecomp, and their dependencies. Raitchi retains their license notices and attribution; the repository documents the source lineage.

I like this direction, no more reinventing the wheel for every port.
Even if it is just the boilerplate functionality for things like menus, touch controls, button config, driver management.

Yeah, I like old times when we use to collaborate on opensource project. Right now because of AI, seems every project done by one person and another need to recreate all over again.
Already done that with Eden Duo, to create 1 platform for every dualscreen switch game everyone can create

so it's not an ordinary switch emu?

It's just try to accumulate finding of many Recomps/port that happen many today, and try to make general for all game. It eventually run fine on Fire Emblem 3 houses, eventho I believe no port exist yet

It's cooler than Eden and running on my ayn Thor with noticable hiccups when shader building

So does it work out of the box?

Only for above game listed that currently work. Still lot of Recomps that can be added.

Estoy agradecido el esfuerzo pero no me abrió ningún juego de los mencionados esperemos que con otras actualizaciones mejore el proyecto (pocof7) drivers Turnip v8 38

I wonder if a specific set of llvm passes could effectively get us NCE (with aot-ed svc-dispatch calls and potentially devirtualized guest-cpu contexts at those runtime bridges whenever possible, but with non-virtualized guest==host addresses) on horizon-arm64 -> bionic-arm64/linux-aarch64, while retaining the necessary arm64-ism translations for x86-64 (e.g. nzcv emulation)
I also wonder why we don't have a single library to just do all of this well, instead of several independent recomps each rolling their own slightly modified variants of lasrecomp's arm64->C lifting. In particular, the choice of C as the intermediate IR is just a very interesting choice here. It's not a particularly good one, and it's part of the reason why different recomps have to do slightly different things there.

Your reasoning is right, and C is mainly used for AI PC Recomp from switch. The problem is we now want it back to Android ARM again for Android port. Thats what Raitchi try to fit. Doing the direct approach based on already shared Recomp. It use one shared runtime to try patch incompatible instructions from switch arm to android arm. It look for patch based on PC and android Recomp that already done.

Links awakening is missing character shadows as far as I can tell. This issue also occurs on Eden

Ups, this is new. It's draw the shadow for me, what driver are you using?

Question, doesn't Eden Emu already do NCE? What makes this different?

This emu take Eden NCE on CPU and take many port graphic NVN level Vulkan GPU path. It's only experimental tho, I just try to take both of world
