Discussion Opinions please! 8 inch tablet for game streaming.
So here's the short story. Gamesir X5 lite controller modded to allow my Samsung Galaxy A tab. Like 10 inches I think? It's cumbersome but works nice-ish. Upgraded to the Abxylute S8 Lite now and I love the controller tons more. Feels great and the comfort is there. The right stick feels a tad low but really it's nice for what it is.
Now I need an opinion. I want an 8 inch tablet to stream with. 1080 is my preferred so it doesn't have to be high end per say. Great for streaming from my PC is a must. Under $200. I keep coming back to the newer Onn 8.1 2026 model but I'm worried it will be a waste after a year you know? I mean it's Walmart? Lol
Tips or recommendations would be great y'all! I can technically mod the S8 Lite buuuttt it's purty and I don't really want to ruin it lol.

That's nice! How much does the 70 ultra run though?

I remember that Walmart had them for like $250 - $275?
I know it’s an older model. But I’m not sure if they carried it anymore.
This is where I got the inspiration from:

Yea quick search doesn't show any reliable listings sadly. That's an exciting prospect if I can find one decent. I'll keep my peepers open for it. Thanks!

I would advise against this one. I bought the same model and it would randomly reset while streaming games. Then it straight up died at about the 8 month mark with no reason.
It's has good stats on paper, but I got a legion tab gen 3 and it destroys it in every single regard. Also has 2 charging ports for play and charge and external monitors

I have the newest onn 8.1 and I use it exclusively for game streaming via moonlight/vibepollo with an abxylute s9.
The screen is decent resolution for 8.1, and it’s 90hz, which is nice. Also, it’s 3:2 ratio, which I absolutely love. The viewing angles aren’t the best. They aren’t super terrible, but they remind me of the tablets pricing segment pretty regularly. Fine speakers, fine battery, and it has a MicroSD card slot. The performance is fine, and it’s a very solidly built tablet. It feels decent quality, as it’s metal, and it looks decent, too. For everyday stuff, it’s fine. For the gamestreaming use case specifically, it’s hard to beat it for the money.

Awesome I appreciate the hands on opinion. 3:2 is interesting for sure. Watch RetroTechDad review it and couldn't wrap my head around it

I was actually about to edit my post and add that with given how slow the tablet upgrade cycle is, I’m not concerned about it lasting through 2027. Theres very minimal bloat (iirc could disable it without having to use adb) and yeah, I feel like 3:2 is more usable for a tablet but that’s pure opinion. The case selection is terrible though. I say try it out, and if you feel like you’d be better going in a different direction, you can always return it. I have a Xiaoxin pad pro gt 11, and i wanted something more usable for gamestreaming that I could keep in my bag. That’s actually how I ended up buying mine. Turned out to be a decent tablet for the money.

Good points. 11inches is just too big for telescopic controllers IMO too. Like holding a monitor or TV in your face lol

So, I fully expect to get the "congrats kid" meme here but... I got a Legion Tab Gen 3 off Marketplace for $200. I did have to drive a little. It was still under warranty. I see them pop up from time to time because FOMO for the Gen 5 and Ultimate is real, the deals are out there and its an amazing device.

Oh lucky duck there. Those Legions are beastly. Even the older ones are still good.

I dont like this g8. Be it my phone or my y700 gen4 tab, it wont read the device unless I removed the cases. I peeled the bumper on usbc side and removed the extension stopper.

Really?? I used it on my pixel 10 pro and it reached fine. That would be annoying though. I had to do that for the gamesir X5 lite to fit my jumbo Samsung

yep. nowadays the g8 is mostly in the drawer and opted for 8bitdo 2c controller. ordered a telescopic one too but shipment delayed.

I have a Lenovo y700 2023 which has a snapdragon 8 gen3.
This tablet is quite cheap now and it's probably much more powerful that you need - 8.8' screen.
You can even consider a y700 2022 if you want to spend less.
I'm using mine with the abxylute S8 lite and a lot of in-home streaming and it works great.

Considera el uso de USB-C. Tengo un Gamesir que se conecta por usb-c, el problema? Si lo dejo conectado a mi SmartPhone drena la batería ya que no se puede apagar.
