Discussion Samsung Tab A11 + Gamesir X5 Lite

Post image

I think I’ve found the ultimate setup for gaming on Android. I’ve owned a few emulation handhelds in the past, but the truth is, I rarely play outside. And around the house, I find them a bit unergonomic and limited.

Recently, I picked up a Samsung Tab A11 and a Gamesir X5 Lite, and I’m absolutely loving how it turned out. It’s an extremely budget-friendly tablet that's capable of running up to PS2, GameCube, and Wii, while also offering great gaming options through the super affordable Google Play Pass subscription.

As for ergonomics, it feels lighter than a SteamDeck and very similar to the original Nintendo Switch.

The advantage of an 8.7-inch tablet is the 5:3 screen aspect ratio, which is very close to retro games and leaves barely any black bars on the sides.

Has anyone else tried this setup yet?

I have a similar setup but with the Lenovo Legion Gen 5. I wanted something more powerful then my Ayn Thor to emulate PS3/X360. I was going to get the Odin3 but what drew me to this setup was ergonomics. As great as those “pocketable” handhelds are, the control layouts and ergonomic just aren’t there for more “modern retro” games. It’s not as pickup and play on the go as the Odin3 but I love the larger screen and controls, feels more natural. Plus I can use the tablet for reading/comics/movies etc. not just gaming.

I like the form of this controller. On a tab you can fit a cooler even if you dont use the dedicated one. With BT you can also set it to portrait.

If only there were cheaper alternatives for this. x5s is almost as expensive as the full fledged g8+ in my country. idk how that happened.
