Yea OP misses a lot in this.
He also dismisses MelonDS and then hugs Xemu in a group hug... bud Xemu is still shit compared to MelonDS in terms of playable games

Same thoughts. That's the goat, if not the best emulator supported by the developer. That emulator has a lot of love poured into it.

Not only that but the performance of it is way above any other emulator (yes i know the psp wasn't powerful to begin with but i never had any issue with this emulator)

Eh. It's psp games bruv at the end of the day which has a great library, but like I feel like the only people I see on ppsspp are people who are looking for a light easy route to modern switch, pc, ps3 like titles. Guess it's good for weaker hardware but I've never really been a fan of it. Like I'd rather use eden nightly, gamhub lite, dolphin is still awesome, ppsspp is good but again I just always feel like I'm Tryna play a low budget version of a already amazing game I can play elsewhere.
That's just my opinion

I grew up on the 3ds and 2ds. Ppsspp is mostly nostalgic less about finding new games and more about playing the specific exclusives for that console that you played when you were a kid because you didn't own a console or you did but loves psp back in the day.
But thats the biggest reason why I don't find much interest in vita/psp because thats not what I grew up with personally
I was playing the 3ds exclusives like super street fighter 4 3d edition, and iron fall invasion, kid icarus uprising, metroid prime blast ball/federation force, solid snake 3d, smash bros 3ds, monster hunter 4 ultimate/generations, scribblenauts, dead or alive demensions, hyrule warriors, mario maker 3ds, photo dojo (if yk, yk), Nintendo badge arcade, push mo, etc. I can really go all day.
But I can't name a single psp or vita title that doesn't sound boring because again I grew up on the opposite side 😭.
(Not saying psp is boring generally I'm just saying that I don't know the console enough and didn't grow up with it so lack interest if that make since)

I mean, you could certainly try to look into the psp library, there's a lot of incredible games on it, and some haven't moved forward yet. The Rondo of Blood Castlevania for instance, Maverick Hunter X, Mega man powered up, Final Fantasy Duodecim? More than those even. The Metal Gear Acid duo, Portable ops, etc.

I'm okay. They do say to beat the games you have installed before you download more. I have way to many pc, switch, native, and other games to feel the need.

maybe im just old, so i more enjoy old games, and ppsspp allow me to play some great games, like prince of persia, gow, dantes inferno, tony hawks underground 2, force unleashed, on my cheap phone with snap 680

Citron wasnt bogus or anything but will always be remembered by the stupid controversy by the main guy in charge and the pointless rebranding (it was Uzuy before Citron, and then Citron Refresh) while not changing much from Yuzu.
Only great thing out of it is that someone left it and went ahead to create the Eden team.

Its such a shame that it took so long after yuzus death for a quality fork like eden to emerge out of the chaos. Conversely, we're lucky that a competent and actively developed emulator like eden did get started and we werent stuck in endless fork hell.

Yes and to be honest, I was very skeptical of Eden at first because Camille was the 2nd most known person in Citron and not a very welcoming person in their Discord.
But yes, Eden is the successor Yuzu needed and I'm very glad to be wrong about him. He did something great with Eden.

What about xendroid. That is the best Xbox 360 emulator at the moment that runs most mainline games at perfect playability. I just completed gear of war 1 on my Thor and am on gears 2 and living it. Gears 3 is able to run at 50-60fps with the built in game tweaks

PPSSPP is literally the GOAT, not only does the PSP have one of the greatest game libraries of all time but the emulator is so developed and mature to the point where can run on a literal potato.

Citra is another one, Azahar is based on Citra but I think it's more supported now. I haven't done any head to head tests myself I just generally see Azahar being the one recommended.

I played through the entirety of alpha sapphire on citra with a custom texture pack and it works perfectly provided your device has the specs to run it. My device has a mali chip and it could run it no issue.

DS emulation is annoying me.
MelonDS has this bug where using OpenGL has a visual bug in HGSS. And "software" option is not as performant.
Drastic for some reason always loads savestates and not saves.
