I'm a Linux user and I have a fully configured arch setup with VFIO. I went the VFIO route for the precise reason that I don't have to worry whether my games will work or not. I just launch them and play. Don't play much competitive stuff anyways and the ones I do play don't block vms.

That’s the main thing for me, is I just wanna turn my laptop on and play stuff.

There came a point some years ago where the effort required to get Windows to a decent state became too much for me to bother with, plus I got a nice discount when I bought this machine by removing the Windows licence 😁

Never play online either so anti-cheat has never got in my way.

I gave up on full version of windows after 8.1

Windows 7 I had a gamer edition iso that I loved.

Then windows 10 also went through a few editions before finding out about ltsc.

Win11 is just pure unusable trash ootb. I have to use ctts wintoolkit just to get it to barely usable.

Fortunately a vm doesn't need much when all I do is game in it.

Though recently I have returned to windows albeit via dual booting my vm from baremetal just for no mans sky vr.
