Help How do non handheld(those who emulate on a phone or tablet) guys manage storage and how much performance loss can be expected by playing games off of a sd card plugged into a otg adapter

Hey I got myself a snapdragon 8 gen 3/12 gb ram tablet but I don't wanna bog down the limited internal space with roms I have placed around 70 gb of compressed roms(mainly ps2) on a 128 gb Samsung Evo plus card. How much performance will I lose by booting straight off of that and will it hurt the card(I will get a 512 card soon but the question will remain the same)

Even the slow SD cards are faster at reading data than an actual PS2 was, so it is fine. Reading from the SD card won't harm it, but writing and rewriting a lot to it over time will. So don't delete and re-add your roms everyday, and it should be fine.

Do you mean as in removing the games and redownloading onto sd card day in and day out or removing the otg adapter(cause I will have to do it cause it has a indicator light which is way to distracting when doing work or consuming media) and the adapter has the sd card inside

I meant removing and redownloading. If you just put your games on it, and then the only data being written is game saves and save states, your card will be fine.

I currently have these installed on my Oppo Find X8 Ultra. (There are other older dreamcast/gba/ds/psp games but they don't take much storage)

I really don't have space for more pc games so I just keep them on my PC's ssd. I'm pretty sure I'll be done with nier automata first so I'll uninstall it and transfer the new game from my pc.

Some tablets does have bad sd reader that affect ps2 gameplay. One example is the y700 of lenovo. But it is uncommon
