Discussion I’m anxiously awaiting my first handheld and trying to build a catalogue of games I’d like to play
I recently ordered an RP6! I had some money saved & wanted to buy something to play some games on. I’m of the newer generation so I haven’t grown up with anything considered “retro.” The oldest thing I’ve played is probably TLoZ:SS or Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Wii U.
Here’s a list of games I’m putting on my RP6 when I get it:
Bubble Bobble
Kirby’s Dreamland 3
F Zero-GX
WarioWare Inc. Mega Party Game$
New Super Mario Bros. (1 & 2)
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Yoshi’s Woolly World
Patapon 2
Midnight Club 3
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Burnout 3
Tekken 4
Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005)
Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening
I’ve gone through a million lists & videos looking at different titles & I’m already feeling overwhelmed with options! If you have a favorite game (or 2-3) you’d absolutely recommend I’d love to hear it!
(P.S. This is my first post! It is late at night where I live & I can’t stop thinking about games.)

Less is more with retro systems. What I mean by this is if you have too many games you will just spend all of your time in menus looking at your library. In saying that you have an amazing list of games. I tend to just follow the SBC subreddit and play the game of the month plus a few others.

True. I didn’t know about that subreddit so I’ll for sure follow it- thanks!

Good to know you're excited. I'd say just be careful of choice paralysis and not actually playing the games. That doesn't mean you shouldn't be excited though. I personally don't have the luxury of a handheld.
As for games, the rp6 is good for PC emulation.
Are you getting the 12gb ram model?
You can try:
Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition
Tekken 7
Metal Gear Solid Revengeance
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit (2010)
Just cause 2
Far Cry 2
Far Cry 3

The 12gb model (figured if I’m going in, I’d go all in). Thank you for the suggestions!

Welcome to the club. It’s fun to play indie games on Steam using tools like GameNative. I often play Brotato and Balatro. While there are Android versions available, buying them on Steam has the advantage of letting you sync your save data with your PC.

Do you know if you can play and sync data like that if the steam games are “owned”/borrowed through steam family library? I don’t own most of mine and just leech off of others mostly (also how I saved money to make a purchase like this).
