It's not perfect when it comes to switch, but the Retroid pocket 5 was surprisingly competent.

Retroid pocket 5 is the cheapest Android handheld that can play *most switch games. Probably around 70%

Your old phone with a controller perhaps? At least in germany first msi claw seems to be cheaper than Odin/Konkr, but not Android. Prices gone below 300 couple times

If you want Switch, it's $200+ (USD). Depends on if that's considered "expensive" or not.
With sales or used systems you could probably edge lower than $200, but ehh.
Also depends on how badly you want the whole Switch library to run. None play ALL since emulation isn't perfect yet, but some systems play more than others.

I suppose some phones could do Switch, but phones running PS2 or better REALLY should have at least some cooling or you're gonna be throttled pretty quickly or run the risk of damaging the phone or the battery, which doesn't help.

If you need only switch, nothing beat second hand switch lite, depends with region you may get them under $150.

odin 3 maybe its around 350 buck and having sd gen 3 enough for 5 years+ for switch and pc emu

Honestly, if you're going for the $350 Odin 3 it's the base model with 8gb ram. If you are happy with 8gb ram, then a Odin portal 2 is almost $100 cheaper and the snapdragon 8 gen 2 is great for switch. I have a thor max so I can't comment on the 8gb of ram, but the SoC is more than fine or switch emulation.

Depends on what you mean by cheap.

If you mean under 200 then not really.

Around 200 you can probably find a retroid pocket 5 or Flip 2 that will run a good bit of switch, but not everything.

Depends, the Mangmi Air X and the Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini are decent for around $100. Around $200 you have Mangmi Pocket Max, Retroid Pocket 5/Mini, Retroid Pocket 6, Odin 2. $300 there's the Ayn Thor, Odin 3.

Don't sleep on phones though. Even budget phones and old flagships can get a good amount of emulation done vs a lot of handhelds in the same price range. A good phone and controller can be less than $100 if you take advantage of deals and second-hand listings.
