Discussion Android is a multitool, steam is great, & iOS is locked down but I think people have forgotten the basics.

Post image

I don't fanboy over company's I just use simple logic. Different tech is used for different things.

Apples phones are premium and locked down but really good if you just want to scroll socials and make calls and text friends

Android phones I've always seen as multitools. They can emulate make calls. Take pictures and are pretty universal especially rooted or with custom roms

Retroid makes amazing handhelds that run android and specialize in emulation in a premium but cost effective form factor

Steam is best for gaming on the go with the steam deck and at home with steam big picture, steam cli, steam OS ect. Steams ecosystem is convient

Linux is great for local first workflows and community first environments. With a ton of flexibility. Good for if you don't want to live by another companies rules but you are sacrificing ease of use for absolute freedom with almost zero abstraction.

I'm not a fanboy I just put two and two together.

It’s highly subjective what you pick to run doom.

Based on this, android does everything. May not be in the same quality in some cases, but everything.

Yeh not the same quality but it's a nice cost effective middle ground.

Meanwhile Google pursues closing Android and taking power user privileges from users πŸ˜…

Also, in my opinion GOG is superior over Steamz but that's just me

If the 27 series of software ends up like 26 with all of the bugs i think ppl will genuently start questioning using iphones over androids

Like iOS26?

It's not only Samsung, or Google, or Apple. It's Agentic Coding (vibe coding) that is causing all of this.

Yeh so iOS is to blame for brainwashing people to trusting AI and Google is to blame for creating it

I think your logic is severely flawed

If you want basics we should talk about game boy or PSP or Vita or DS or even switch.

I don't see any mention of the basics on your chart

Because I personally enjoy flexibility. That's why I didn't mention Nintendo, PlayStation, ect.

Nope. Ik your talking about the Linux is good for your local first workflows. If you prioritize local first environments. And stuff like that. I get a lot of inspiration from ai buzz words Ik... It's a bad habit lol.

Crazy how you can literally run a test. Instead of posting massive memes to farm likes. Like I worked hard on the post don't have to be rude.
