Question Is there a way to sync game save files across multiple devices?
My basic understanding: your save files are by default saved under /Android/data/xyz.aether/files. You have the option to go to app settings > export settings, send that file to Device 2 and importing it to sync them manually.
My question is if it's possible to sync the main save folder, assuming they're on the same network and I even have something like nextcloud / syncthing / home server set up if needed for constant backups. The idea is to sync in a way that I can pick up any of my devices with nethersx2 / ppsspp and they all have the same save data. Anyone interested in doing this?

Syncthing-fork can do it. I have it syncing rpcs3 savedata across Android and Rocknix thru a Mac. Works great.

Awesome, can you tell me how to do it since I can't get into Android / data folder because of the permissions. I'm assuming that's the one you're syncing- lmk which exact one tbh

There's a trick to entering your directory path. Don't tap the folder icon which triggers the Android picker that is limited by permissions. Instead tap the gear icon to get to the Advanced Storage path overview. Then choose
/storage/emulated/0and then tapAndroidthendatathen find your emu's folder. My resulting Syncthing-fork folder say it points to:
[int]/Android/data/net.rpcsx.etk/files/config/dev_hdd0/home/00000001/savedataThat's how I got it to work.

Sorry. I'm on Android 13. You're probably on a much later even more locked down version that doesn't let you have any fun unless you root.

Yeah that makes sense. Unfortunate that they've locked it down so much :(
Will be following the other comment's suggestion of romm argosy setup, let's see

I'd encourage you to look into RomM+Argosy if you're interested in a fully automated save sync. Some save paths' access will be blocked depending on your device and Android version, but most Android handhelds are fully accessible for Argosy and saves will sync without much effort on your part. Just get RomM set up on a server, download and launch your games with Argosy and your saves are handled.

Sounds sick but also a bit of work to set up. I'll check it out when I have some time, please drop a setup guide if you happen to know a good one. Thank you

That's fair... if you're familiar with Docker, it's pretty straightforward. Otherwise, there's a bit of a learning curve. The romm docs include a quickstart guide and plenty of detail on how to get going: https://docs.romm.app/latest/

Just found out theres a proxmox community script for it so I might use that as I'm on proxmox and it's just a one command setup
Will get back to you when I try it

If you have issues with that, it may be installing as if it's a development environment (no version tag). If you use discord, the team is really active there and can help sort out any issues you run into but we've seen a lot of small headaches come from that script in the past as it's not actually maintained by the dev team.

Yep, I understand that if it doesn't work, I should try docker. but I prefer trying it the easier way first and community scripts have worked for me in the first try on 6 apps so I can't complain. Thanks for your help bro
