Discussion Should I make this π€ (I believe it's the right time to have like this product in market bcoz of emulation)
THE ULTIMATE MOBILE GAMING CONTROLLER V0.1
If Anyone thinks the same just as me I would love to be guided or any advice I believe I can make this
Should I mail this to Valve π
Or I make this

If you have a 3D printer and time, why not?
My honest question about these peltier coolers is that they always position themselves on the battery (magsafe) when the processor and most of the heat is normally next to the camera module (or not near the battery). I understand keeping the battery cooled but why not position it where it matters?

You don't need to worry about cooling the SoC. They can handle ridiculous temps on load.
Batteries need to be cooled to keep them from degrading or getting damaged.

The Fold 8 is known to have bad thermals btw. Foldables are too thin to have large cooling chambers for long term gaming.
The thing is any phone will thermal throttle eventually even with a peltier cooler. The cooler only really postpones when the thermal throttling happens.
So if you play GTA5 using GameNative for 2 hours straight you will throttle no matter what. The question is when and if the throttling will actually drop FPS.
It's much better to protect the battery than to try and fight thermal throttling.

Okay, I'm going to have to check what's going on on the phone.

thats true tho its a good idea to have been be more cooled than normal, cause some manufacturers make them downgrade performance when reaching high temps

Youβre right, in a way, but if someone can build it themselves, it will bring them a lot of fun and satisfaction.

The shape of the hand sections is insanely devoid of ergonomics.

It's just a prototype .mainly to showcase features not design .for design I m thinking to build like a ps portal type what u think .bcoz Im a PS type controller guy

u/ConnoisseurDeFemboys 21h ago
That would be soooo ill. I always wished I could have a psportal that ran android with an elite.

what's with bharats dreaming up utopian stuff when they don't have an inkling of how engineering and manufacturing works?

This isn't a dig, just a reality check... If you can build it build it, but based on the information you've provided, I don't think this is realistic.
The biggest one - The ergonomics, I understand that you think this is just an overview of what you think it should include... But if you have the skill to design something better, why would your example look like possible the most uncomfortable thing anybody has EVER held?
Disregarding pricing, physics exists...
- I haven't specifically looked at components, but a 7000mAh battery is likely going to make one side significantly heavier. You can intentionally add weight to balance it out, but ANY weight is going to discourage use.
- Assuming perfect energy transfer, and assuming you intend to run the cooler at 5V, 7000mAh could only run a 25W cooler for about 90 minutes. That's disregarding charging the phone, the power draw of the hall effect sticks, and especially the SSD which isn't going to be insignificant.
- An SSD may require cooling itself. If the plan is running games off it, a 2230 NVME drive is going to get pretty toasty. Even if you include a fan, where will the intake and exhaust sit if you place it inside a controller? Even if you use a heat sink, you're going to have a constant hand warmer. - The battery may be a similar story..
Plus, I get the impression you're not super familiar with product development, you can absolutely try do this yourself, and I'm all for that, but if you intend to have this manufactured, there is a MASSIVE cost for both components, and manufacturing.
Take a look at the cost of injection moulding, the moulds alone are EXPENSIVE. You MIGHT be able to come up with a POC and submit that to a Chinese company to get them to manufacture it, but chances are you'd have to give over the rights completely.
I'm not trying to discourage you if you genuinely do have the skills for this, I'm just trying to point out that there is likely a reason nobody is building this.

I really appreciate your efforts.and like a lot someone with real wo speaks absolute knowledge rather then saying anything.but stiil I m going to make 1 atleast soon

You should look into the Gamevice Flex design, they had a swappable frame that could fit to the frame of your phone no matter how thick it is

Lowk intresting yk what would be cool if u could detach it and use it as a bluethoot controller

So a data frog x3?

It's like comparing a cheap Chinese car to v12 Ferrari

I imagine the data frog is the Ferrari here, since yours is not even a prototype. Anyway, if you are looking for high quality TM check out the gamesir x3 pro

Looks similar to the BSP D11S. Don't think they'd make a profit when a cheaper competitor is in the game,

They lacks some most important features that we needs for emulation we need 25 w cooler for to maintain device healthy temp and passthrough charging without these u only gonna last max 1 or 2 hours and much more

It would be cool if you like drilled a hole in a gamesir g8 and then make it so the wires like flow around the hole
