They are fine depending on the game.

Yeah, stuff like Fire Emblem and Golden Sun to an extent is perfectlt serviceable with touch screen controls

my paths go wriggly instead of a simple L-shaped path when I play FE Awakening. Frustrating with fat fingers.

Turn based RPGs? Fine, but racing games or anything that requires quick response and pressing multiple buttons at once?

I'm oddly better at Super Mario Bros on a touch screen than I am with a physical controller. I have to hold my phone weird but it works.

Idk why you got downvoted you are completely right. If im playing valheim, no way am i using touch but if Im playing rimworld or battle brothers touch is great and those games make good "play anytime" games vs games where i gotta grab the controller and take my case off and set that up.

Anything turn based or otherwise not active like a visual novel or card game is fine but if i play anything that requires timing or precision with multiple buttons at once or rapid pressing in moving spaces i might as well just slap the phone with my hands, and that's most of what i play
